I hope that you all can assist me in changing my lifestyle for better health. I need to lose a lot of weight. Although, I am too comfortable the way I am now. The only way for me is to have great food selections to replace the way I eat now. I need lots of love and support. Holler at your girl! For real! You can do it, It's not about eating less, but about eating different. Start substituting fresh fruits and vegetables for the cooked, processed, UNHEALTHY junk. You are too valuable to fill with junk - you deserve high class, high nutrient, delicious, healing, live foods! Go for it. Time does not exist when you turn your awareness to your inner needs. Think about it. what does you body really want? Not necessarily what you are craving, but what works for you and what tastes delicious to you. Try to know this and appreciate it everyday. Just be aware and have that little smile inside as you pay attention to your body's deep need for nourishment. The fact is that time does not exist when we do things out of love for ourselves. We simply walk and talk (and eat) our way right into the exact body we want. The process varies for each individual. You create your own experience and sometimes others help by offering inspiration. Here is my contribution: Three years ago I became very concerned about my own health. I created my own intuitive diet based on what I already knew and some of what I read about hearth healthy diets, this eventually led me to an awareness about the importance of raw vegan foods. I lost about 80 pounds by simply cutting out sugar and sugary foods, flour products, and animal products including dairy. It was my goal to not eat more than 20 percent of anything containing these products, but this practice had the effect of cutting them out almost entirely. I simply lost the desire to eat as much of these foods because I was enjoying the awareness of being healthy on the inside. I focused on having as much salad and fresh raw vegetables as possible and I still continue to concentrate on moslty raw vegan foods. It was not my intention to lose weight, although I was very grateful to see the pounds melting off over time. Green is the color of love in the heart chakra and even if you don't believe in this system of thought, we all notice green everywhere on the earth cleansing the air and creating life. Greens are also the very best food to eat on any diet. You will find that every credible nutritionist and dietician will stress the importance of leafy greens. The only challenge is to make them taste delicious by slicing them into bite sized pieces, marinating them, dressing them, combining them with other delicious ingredients and so on. You can also blend greens into smoothies to bring down the sugar content and increase vital nutrients. Eventually your sense of taste will increase and you will not need so much flavor added to the greens. I just stopped at a rest stop coming back from New York. Resigned to the idea that there was no raw vegan foods on the premises, I decided that I would get in line for a muffin or something like that...(I am pretty relaxed about my choices, and I am fine with not being 100 percent all the time Just doin' the best I can : ) So I stood there and suddenly saw the salad bar at the Sbarro. I ended up making the most delicious, biggest salad in the world. I also got some steamed veggies which I eat on occasion with tomato sauce. Total bill $13 I sat there and calmly ate the whole thing with absolute delight reminding myself how cleansing and nourishing the food on our planet can be...even in the most toxic places. I did get a few stares from some who were tucked into their fried chickens. But I noticed that during my meal, the most joyful family sat down right next to me.
