YOGA Event for Breast Cancer - October 1 C-OM-Munity Circle of Healing Light and Love October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In honor of the month, all yoga lovers are invited to participate in a C-OM-Munity Circle of Healing Light and Love on Sunday, October 1 at 9:30am–10:00am in Malcolm X/Meridian Hill Park (located at 16th Street and Florida Avenue, NW). The short morning practice will be dedicated to sending healing light and love to everyone who has been impacted by breast cancer. We will: 1) gather in a circle and ground ourselves in Tadasana (mountain pose) before we chant OM four times to

open our heart chakra (4th chakra) and short morning practice; 2) practice a series of four Surya Namaskar (sun salutations) and Vrksasana (tree

pose; ending with one final pose that allows each person to touch his/her neighbors' hands); 3) come back into Tadasana (mountain pose) and hold hands as we call out the names of people we know who have been impacted by breast cancer; and 4) chant a sea of OMs four times to close our C-OM-Munity Circle of Healing Light and Love. We will meet at the reflection pool located at the park opening which faces 16th Street (on the corner of Florida Avenue). Please bring your own yoga mats. Paper towels and sanitary wipes to clean mats will be provided. Wear comfortable clothing. There is no fee for participation.
