Happy New Year!

May peace break into your house. May thieves come to steal your debts. May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet for $100 bills. May love stick to your face like Vaseline. May laughter assault your lips! May your clothes smell of success. May happiness slap you across the face. May your tears be those of joy. May the problems you had lose your home address! In other words ...........

May 2006 be the best year of your life!

Peace My People! Skai here! And I am ready to this. This being all the positive opportunities that this year can bring. I am sooooo glad to see 2005 gone. What a year it has been for me. Not all bad, just a bit transitional for me. My mother transitioned, my housing transitioned (bought a house), the restaurant transitioned (rather multiplied), relationships transitioned, the village co-op transitioned, I could actually go on and on.... However, I rather move forward into the future as bright as it looks. Here I attempt to share with you some of the things that are going to make this year great. Consider it a rather large invitation.

First and foremost, The Village Inc. A Natural Food Co-Operative has closed due to lack of funds and lack of volunteers. We will be meeting this Thursday to finalize the closing. Never fear the efforts that made it possible are still here. Did anyone know how difficult it is to run a store? Ask me. Anyway the Buying Club will be re-opening shortly after we reorganize a bit. We will receive orders at the Yabba Pot again. I have been in contact with the folks of Natural Zing and Red Emma's to order together from Albert's Organics and United Natural Foods. And you are welcome to join this effort. One thing about the co-op is that the community spirit hasnt died.

The Yabba Pot on St Paul Street will be going through some renovations, both physically and logistically. Some of our plans are to open seven days a week, wireless internet, organic coffee, serve vegan breakfast daily, food by weight, expand our market section to include more natural food snacks and cultural items ...to name a few.

Empress Catering continues to be this regions premeire Vegan Catering company. We have expanded our catering menu to include Seafood for your peeps who cant completely let go ;D!! But we wont be broiling any Salmon at the Pot. FYI! A few weddings are scheduled this year and we are getting orders daily. Please call Roslyn to set up your next event. She has over 20 years catering experience. We will work with ANY budget.

The Yabba Pot DownTown (771 Washington Blvd) is destined to be Baltimore's newest and coolest hang spot. The space (if you havent been there yet) can accomodate a couple hundred people without chairs and tables. So if you are interested in having a private party or fundraiser contact Andrew the Prophet. We have our own sound system, so just bring your CD player (or turntable...if you are old school) and plug it in. Courtesy of NowChild Sound Stage.
