Greetings:

So far, this is the last News Letter received by me from Robert Cohen "Not Milk Man."

Is this what you're looking for?

notmilk From: "Robert Cohen" <notmilkMon, 04 Jul 2005 13:07:38 -0000NOTMILK - Died on the Fourth of JulyDied on the Fourth of July Katie Vann is an 18-year-old vegan animal activist who lives in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, Cheesehead land. Besides being an excellent student, Katie is known for her dedication to animal rights issues. Katie volunteers her time in a local shelter helping animals get adopted into caring homes by photographing and writing descriptions of these unwanted and abandoned sentient creatures. You won't find Katie anywhere near one of PETA's hypodermic syringes. Instead, she works hard to place shelter animals into good homes. Katie cares for a few cats and horses at her own home. What distinguishes this teenager from other teens is

that she is an accomplished writer, often publishing articles for the online newsletter, Animal Rights Online. Last Sunday, that same newsletter's lead story called me an "Armchair Activist" and criticized my own critique of PETA's policy of killing healthy young shelter animals. After reading that very upsetting column, I checked the masthead of Animal Rights Online and wrote to each member of the staff including Katie. By Thursday, I had only received one email response, and that came from Katie's address: Vann167 The answer that I received: "oh give me a f***ing break" Folks...if that's the best response that I can get from an 18-year-old who supposedly has compassion for animals, and receive no other email replies from any of her so-called compassionate elder colleagues, then it's just not worth it any longer for me to continue the good fight. I give up. On Friday,

I received this response from the author ofthe original column: JJswans wrote: "I'm terribly disappointed in your actions this week...You were not the target of my article."I was not the target? On the day before I posted myanti-PETA column, I sent a copy of that column (asI had done with dozens of columns over the years)to two individuals, Linda and Susan of AR Online.A few hours later, I received an email from somebodyat PETA, citing that column. Later in the week, PETA attacked me personally bywriting that I had not gone to nor graduated fromcollege. Another lie. Both Linda and Susan deniedthat they had sent that column to PETA. Cow chips. One of the two of them did. One of the two of themlied to me. One of the two continues to lie. Both of them know who the liar is.Only one activist in America has had the courage to take on PETA, and that is yours truly. If I cared any

longer, I would demand that Linda (JJ) name that "other" individual, but I really have no desire to debate with a liar. There really is no other person. A lie by any other maliferous bouquet is still a petard. "If you do not tell the truth about yourself you cannot tell it about other people." --Virginia Woolfe NOTE: After writing the above, I did receive a telephone message from another individual listed on that masthead, Greg Lawson. Greg works closely with Linda and Susan andknows the inner workings of AR Online. I was away from home when his call came, but the two word message was"I'm sorry." Thank you, Greg. You have always been a gentle man, and an honest spirit, and I appreciate your courage. Greg also informed that that he had also writtena criticism of PETA's kill policy. His work was not postedin that issue of AR Online. Greg also informed me that the editor asked him to hold off on his

opinion. Ergo, AROnline's official published policy is to support the euthanasia of healthy shelter animals. How can I continuewith my work in this insane environment? In his autobiography, Tolstoy wrote about "peak experiences"or steps in one's own life that present enormous symbolicimportance. Something inside of me "snapped" when theAnimal Rights Online newsletter defended PETA's killing ofhealthy puppies and kittens. So--in the interest of preserving and maintaining my own balance, I am going to be taking a little rest from the things I have been doing for the past 12 years. Permitme to borrow a parting line from Jim Carey's Truman Show:"Oh, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening and good night." Robert Cohen http://www.notmilk.com
