Guest guest
Everyone is warmly invited for a raw vegan potluck this Sunday, July 10! Join us from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. in Arlington, Va. Our host is Debbie Sheetz, who mentioned to me that she also has a hot tub if people are interested! Everyone is invited, regardless of how extensive your experience with raw food is. For inspiration about what to bring, go to http://www.living-foods.com/recipes/. If you haven't made a lot of raw food recipes or you prefer to eat more simply, you can bring a simple veggie salad or some fruit. Please bring only raw vegan food to share, preferably organic. An ingredient list placed next to your dish is helpful for those with special dietary interests/constraints. Please bring plates, utensils for eating and serving spoons since we'll be outside! The host is looking for a housemate, so please bring along any friends who are looking to rent in a quiet, alcohol and meat free home with two cats! Last month, Joseph Fleming invited us to Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park in Washington, DC, where we enjoyed a great potluck, a fun giveaway of books and a dehydrator generously donated by an attendee, and late in the day some drumming. Driving Directions: From 395, take the Shirlington exit. This is in between the King Street and Washington Boulevard exits not far from the Pentagon. Follow signs to Shirlington, bearing right onto Shirlington Rd. Go through the light and take a left onto Four Mile Run. Go to the first light and take a right onto Walter Reed Drive. Go up the hill three blocks and take a left onto Quincy. Go two blocks and take a left onto 18th St. South. It's the third house on the left, #4012 , blue with two large blue cedar trees in front. Park anywhere on the street. There are plenty of spaces, but note that after 7 pm you need a guest parking pass (Debbie has yet to see anyone ticketed though). Please go through one of the two side gate entrances around to the back yard. If it's raining, please come in the front door, no need to knock. Hope you can join us!
