Sorry for the late notice about this, but hope you'll come out with

friends and family to join us for a picnic on Sunday, June 5 in

Washington, DC's beautiful Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park.

Joseph Fleming is hosting the event and will make his place near the

park available in case of rain, which is not in the forecast. The

park is located just off 16th Street N.W. above U Street in a

wonderful area. The park itself is a beauty to behold, and there's

plenty of room for kids (and adults) to run and play. There will be

drummers in the park to enjoy, plus some great soccer to watch or

play. So come join us if you can!

Everyone is invited, regardless of how extensive your experience

with raw food is. For inspiration about what to bring, go to

http://www.living-foods.com/recipes/. If you haven't made a lot of

raw food recipes or you prefer to eat more simply, you can bring a

simple veggie salad or some fruit. Please bring only raw vegan food

to share, preferably organic. An ingredient list placed next to your

dish is helpful for those with special dietary

interests/constraints. Please bring plates, utensils for eating and

serving spoons since we'll be outside!

Potluck Location:

Meridan Hill/Malcolm X Park, upper level next to 15th Street to the

right as you come up the stairs. We'll be across from the

drummers. Look for the bunch of bananas as a place marker.

You will NOT need to be buzzed in!

Metro Directions: Take the green line to the U Street station, 13th

Street exit. Walk west toward 15th Street and turn right. The park

is just two blocks north on your right.

Driving Directions: Paste the following link into your browser:

addr=15th+Street+and+belmont+street+NW & csz=washington+dc & country=us

Click on " Driving Directions " below the blue Maps header bar

for specific directions from your location.

There's street parking all the way around the park. I'd avoid

parking on 16th Street unless there's already other cars parked

there.

As a backup to Joseph, you can also try reaching me by cell phone at

202-487-6065.

Thanks!

Steve
