From Tim Trader at Raw Passion: Put your intent and attention on what you WANT not on what you don't want. For example, I want to be the healthiest person I can be. When I eat raw foods I will think clearer, feel great, have more energy & more enthusiasm to enjoy life. Be compassionate with yourself. Take care of yourself so you can care for others. The people who eat more fruit have higher serotonin levels as do those who meditate (i.e. - you'll feel happier).

Dr. Doug in Maryland:

The average American is on 3 medications. 50% of Americans have diabetes (not all are aware of it).

" Choose food that loves you as much as you love it - a one way love affair doesn't work! "

Hydration - The best way to tell if you are dehydrated is by how often you urinate. If it's less than 5 you are severely dehydrated. If more than 15 you most likely have some sort of blood sugar problem. Ideal is between 8 to 10 times a day. It should be clear in color and satisfactory in volume (versus scanty). Water dilutes toxins. " The solution to pollution is dilution. " When an animal is poisoned it seeks water. Equate thirst with being poisoned. Notice what you eat that makes you thirsty. The thirstier you are the more toxic it is for you. (Ex. MSG really makes you thirsty)

Symptoms tell us that there's a problem. There are basic rules to health, just like natural laws of the universe. If we break them our body will tell us. We may not like them, but if we play by the rules then we will have health.

We become " addicted " to things because of the emotional impact. They give us a shift in emotions. Over eating or very heavy (even raw) meals dull our emotions since we only have so much energy and so it will get shifted to our digestion and we won't feel the emotions as strongly.

Everyone knows you don't drink salt water if you're lost at see or you'll die of dehydration, yet somehow we think it's ok to take the salt water that can kill you and get rid of the water to eat the salt???

We can only prove the laws of nature, we can't break them. Every program works to the degree that it follows the laws of nature. Look at the animals, they eat one food at a time till they are full. Simplicity is the key. " Variety comes through out the year, not throughout the meal. "

If we crave sweets at the end of a meal, then we didn't have enough fruit at the beginning of the meal. Fruit is like magic food for the athlete. If we crave refined sweets, then we need fresh fruit. If we are craving complex carbohydrates it's again, because we haven't had enough fruit.

" When it takes longer to poop that to pee, you've got a problem. " It shouldn't take any longer to have a bowl movement. If it does, you need more fruit/fiber in your diet.

When we taste salt it reduces our ability to taste any of the other tastes on our tongue. So we just want to add more salt thinking it will increase the flavor. 2 out of 3 Americans die of heart disease. Get rid of the salt.

" Choose food that loves you as much as you love it - a one way love affair doesn't work! "

That is a summary of some of the things I got out of his talk. PLEASE will the rest of you who were there add in anything you got out of his presentation? THANKS!

Nancy
