Guest guest
greetings all: I sent an email announcing a fundraiser Samba party by my organization the International Capoeira Angola Foundation Baltimore to a few lists with different and specific foci. As a member of ICAF B more, a vegetarian, homebirth activist and student midwife, I am guilty of allowing my worlds to cross and converge and I did not realize that by sending out this email I might be deciding to mix boundaries with folks who may not wish for them to be mixed. PErsonally I am working to change that dynamic in my individual work within ICAF. It is already Veggie friendly - ie ICAF DC has supported talks by the various veggie organizations and many of ICAf members around the world are veg heads. As well, I am working to create a stronger connection amongst the women practioners so we can support each other and build strong woman centerd space in the midst of our organization. We have fasted together in the past and are working to start seasonal gatherings of women - Many of the women in the group have trained while pregnant and support each other through birth and a number have had homebirths..... The party, which I emailed about is simply a fundraiser to help our organization and potentially raise funds to support a new group growing in Mozambique. Much mrr Ama Chandra BRown Free Falling life is life without mission
