Guest guest
Hi, I do not do all raw at the moment, have tried on and off but never seem to stick to it mainly because I have low blood sugar and end up grabbing something cooked or a piece of (organic) cheese for instance. Anyway, I do juice veggies every day, eat raw in the morning and I am a vegetarian and only use organic. I now have a phobia about having my blood pressure taken at Dr office due to a stupid Dr 3 years ago and a false scare. Unfortunately have to go to Dr office re my thyroid meds and they take my bp. Last week I was so scared and when they took it systolic was high again. I told him that I took it at home last year after a similar episode and it was almost normal but now (stupid me) I am even afraid to take it at home but will pluck up courage to do so next week. Deep down I keep thinking " maybe its high all the time and then what " ? I hate the thought that I would have to go on bp meds =:0 I am about 8-10lbs overweight, I exercise daily. Has anyone on the list had hbp and successfully brought it down nutritionally? Thanks for listening Brit
Guest guest
Brit, Just being scared causes your blood pressure to go way up! So... take some D E E P breathes and let them out slowly :-) . Ok, you get the idea. In other words, I would assume your real blood pressure will always be less that at the Drs. office. I have heard of many people lowing their blood pressure just through nutrition and exercise. Go for it!! Guest guest
Brit, You might want to reference Nutritional Healing by Dr. Balch, he makes great suggestions on just about everything. I also think that regular deep breathing sessions is something to take seriously as a yoga practice or discipline. GI Gong is also great for assisting in health management. I not just saying that to toot my own horn. But I have seen it work on my own body. I understand that some people use garlic for bp issues. Just do your research and consider getting a comprehensive consultation from a Naturopathic, MD. Or Acupuncturist. Zatiti
Guest guest
Hello : It's good to check in, I have been very busy...I do not have high blood pressure, but I do have thyroid challenges on occasion. In the past, if my thyroid was " hypothyroid, " I usually tell my doctor to give me six months to shift things and if things haven't changed, I will go on the medication. For several years, I have adopted an approach used by the Simonton's with cancer patients to help keep my thyroid in check. The Simontons trained cancer patients to visualize their tests results coming back normal, using specific numbers from the test results in the visualization. They suggested to cancer patients that they over time visualize the tests returning back a little more normal with each doctor visit. Their research showed success with adults, but extraordianary results with children. They also instructed other methods for healing. The instructions of the specific number to visualize as far as tests results go serve as instructions to the body mind, for the body mind to make the changes. Visualizing daily helps. I asked my doctor to explain to me the healthy range that my thyroid tests should return. I began to visualize my thyroxine levels at that number, which would suggest healthy functioning. I also incorporated yoga. I was still able to get " normal " results, on my thyroid tests with a " regular " vegetarian diet which included dairy cheese, etc. I am interested in doing the tests now! At Drew University in Los Angeles, California, there is ongoing study about the effects of meditation on high blood pressure. They have found success, but have also studied the effects of lifestyle change on high blood pressure...you can look up Transcendental Meditation and high blood pressure on a medical search line, and maybe even the internet and get additional information...Blessings...good luck with your health adventure...Ashtarra
