Greetings to all!

Please mark your calendar and invite your friends to come out next Thursday (11/18) for the November

Verse, Vibes & Bites

Poetry Soiree

hosted by Sistah Joy

at the downtown Washington, DC

Barnes & Noble.

For those new to the group, we get together every 3rd Thursday at Barnes & Noble Books at 555 12th Street, NW, (corner of 12th & E, 1 block from Metro Center), upstairs in the cafe from 7pm til 9pm.

Our featured poet this month is t. p. Luce, author of ThaBLOC, the collection that has been heralded by so many around the country.

....words, photographs and baltimore city in black, white and gray

http://www.thabloc.com/aboutbook.html

Powerful, poignant and insightful poetry and photograph of contemporary urban life.

Don't forget to bring a poem or two and a friend or two for the OPEN MIC that always closes out our monthly Verse, Vibes & Bites Poetry Soiree at Barnes & Noble. Doc Powell will be on hand to drum for any poets on Djembe (African) drum that would like accompaniment. Grab a bite from the cafe as you relax to Doc's soothing vibes accompanying some of the best poetry DC has to offer!

E-mail Sistah Joy, the event host, at Poetsistahjoy if you'd like to be featured at a future Soiree or would like more information about this free monthly event.

Help promote poetry in DC by passing this announcement to your friends and fellow/sister poets and poetry lovers.

I look forward to seeing on the 18th.

Sistah Joy, Poet-in-residence

Barnes & Noble (Downtown DC)
