Guest guest
I received the following info from a friend and want to share it with the group. Steve Raw Inspiration - 10/7/04 - Raw Food Documentary Film ******************************************** We are currently working on an independent documentary film about raw foods. We feel that the time is ripe for a definitive film about the wonders and the dramas now unfolding around the concept of eating 100% raw unheated organic fruits, seeds, and vegetables. We feel that this is one of the biggest breakthroughs in the human collective consciousness since humans first began putting their food in the fire in the first place. The backdrop is our own backyard, one of the richest countries in the history of the world. With all of the marvels of modern medical science at our fingertips we are a nation who is literally eating themselves to death. We are dying at a rate of over 1,000 people a day from obesity and we lose another 1,200 people a day to the results of cigarette smoking. These are facts that we all know by heart now, and they have been documented in both specials on TV and in independent films. It is our hope that this film that we are making will supply some answers to many questions that are now facing us as a collective people. Does eating raw food help prevent different forms of Cancer? Is raw organic food an answer to heart disease? Is it possible to eat one hundred percent raw and get all of the nutrients that we need on a daily basis? And can we take this information and put it into an entertaining format that mainstream society will find interesting? I think that we have a great story line that is both compelling and fascinating. This is definitely a grassroots movie that will not get made if it is not supported on a grassroots level. It is my strong belief that in less than a decade we will look back on the food corporations of our day and wonder how we ever allowed them to poison generation after generation of people with practices that are now common ways of doing business. It is our intention to raise the money for this film by reaching out to people everywhere who will in turn own a small portion of the movie and receive a share of the net. Remaining profits that we derive from the movie will be used to fund our nutritional educational programs and retreats via our non-profit organization Ekaya Institute. We have the potential through our contacts to be distributed by either Sony Pictures or Alliance Atlantis. " Supersize Me " made $17,000,000 at the box office (See boxofficemojo.com) which was the third highest grossing documentary ever. " Supersize Me " presented the national nutrition crisis very well, paving the way for a film that can provide answers and hope. " Fahrenhiet 9/11 " grossed $203,000,000 and cost only $60,000 to make. I believe the recent success of these documentaries is because people know that independent documentary films are providing important information well beyond what is available on TV network news. If you would like to own a percentage of this film or be a part of this film in any way please contact us at info ******************************************** In Health, Jinjee and Storm http://www.thegardendiet.com Ekaya Institute of Living Food Education (E.I.L.F.E.) *Online Home of our 100% Raw Vegan Family *10 Raw Foods eBooks and The Raw Vegan Circular Workout DVD *Storm's Raw Mountain Hiking Retreats ******************************************** P.S.: If you have time, we'd love to hear how you found our site!
