Guest guest
Hello cyber friends! This will have to be my last devotion for the group because I am going out of town. In fact, way out of town - down to Florida (Oh yea!!) I'm taking a week long training class in " Awakening the Mind " . It should be awesome. And the best part is that my hubby will be with me for 1/2 the week. So… I'm praying that someone will pick up these last 4 days and add some exciting inspiration for those of us pushing through to day 21. Way to go Lynda with the exercise and motivational reading. I'll have to get that book. I'm doing well with my routine, I can even see a little more shape in my calves :-) The following is from a TERRIFIC book that has changed my life, THE ALADDIN FACTOR by Jack Canfield. If you can get a hold of it or the tapes, AND do what it suggests, you will never be the same. " The First task is to make a list of 101 wishes. Aladdin started to scribble furiously, then he stopped and wailed, 'I cannot do it! I have never had permission to wish for much.' The genie spoke with conviction. 'This is the real beginning of the task. To convince your mind to expand, to give yourself permission to thoroughly explore what you really want and what you don't want…' Second is to clarify your vision. It helps you to delve deeper into your unconscious and connect with the true desires of your heart. The key here is not to think about whether or not something is possible, but simply whether or not you want it. The third task is to complete the perfect day fantasy. Close your eyes and relax. Let yourself create your ideal day. Start with waking up in the morning. … Write it down. The Fourth Task is to complete the 'I want' process. You will need a partner to do this exercise. The person is someone you feel safe with and who will not judge your responses in any way. Sit facing your partner. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to get relaxed. Have them read: From this place of relaxation, just let yourself get in touch with that part of you that knows what you truly want without any barriers of fear, guilt or limiting beliefs. And from this place deep in your heart, keeping your eyes closed, just let yourself answer this question. What do you want? (they record your answers on a piece of paper._ What do you want? And so on for about 10 or 15 minutes. Review your list of answers. You will probably find that the answers that come later in the process are more truly what you want. Now make a commitment to do whatever it takes to get them. The fifth task is to stretch your imagination. Take a pad of paper and write down all of the answers that are stimulated by these questions. [they have about 15] For example: What would you most like to accomplish before you die? Do you need more sleep? Better food? More time to play? To go dancing? To get fit? Would you like to travel more? Play a sport? Throw more parties? Do you want to make a contribution to the world? Be specific. For example, someone said they want more money, so I put my hand in my pocket and gave them a quarter. 'There, now you have more money. Are you satisfied?' 'No, I want more than that.' 'Well, how was I supposed to know? How is your brain supposed to know? How is God supposed to know? You have to be more specific in your asking.' The two important aspects of specificity are how much and by when. " I have done these things and I am seeing them happening. It is exciting to know we can become what we dream and be our best and make a wonderful contribution to the world and at the same time be blessed ourselves. Have a rawsome day!!
