Guest guest
Hi there! Haven't written in a while. Wanted to direct this to the nursing moms out there and to anyone, really. I looked in this little pocket guide to produce at the local food co-op here in VT. They listed the protein and calories, etc for fruit and veggies. I had read at the garden diet about protein being in fruits and veggies but this actually spelled out how much. It was very neat to see. Most all fruits and veggies have 1 gram of protein per service. Others have more. Broccoli has 5 grams per service. I am mentioning it for the nursing vegans and raw vegans who are asked about needing protein for their babies and hope to provide you with a little more info for your replies to said concerned people... (realizing it's really nobody's business, but it's good to have some info in your " aresenal " ...) I'm thinking back to my old cravings for certain things in past pregnancies. Broccoli was always one of them... Anyway, signing off for now. Missing this group but am loving Vermont. It's more diverse than I thought it would be and there is lots of interest in rawfood here. We shall see what transpires... Linda
