Nancy, Lynda and others who wish to join

in the 21 day fall challenge,

 

Autumnal Equinox 2004 is Wednesday, September

22nd. That is the day

the sun is over the equator and the night and day are equal (12 hours). I love the thought for day one and plan

to print it out, keep it by my bed and focus on it first thing in the morning. I can do the 6am focus/prayer, however for me exercise will have to come either

before or later in the day.

 

Lynda, I do like the idea of group and

individual goals. 100% live organic foods for 21 days is a fabulous goal, however that

may be better as an individual goal as opposed to group goal as we are all at

different places on the journey. I’d hate to set up for failure. (Please let me know if I am off here.) It

may be a small step for some to go 100% organic/raw for 21 days and for others

that may be an unreachable shot to the moon, though they’d love to go. A group goal, from my stand point, may

be to “come closer to 100% organic/raw than you are now. “ Leave the specifics for individuals to

make the challenge meet their personal needs. I personally would love to shoot for

100% raw for the 21 days and claim that as my personal goal.

 

What I see as a group goal would be for us

to take our path one step higher than where we are now. For some that may mean

100% raw organic, while for others that may be eating 90% raw and others may

focus on 2 meals a day raw (as an improvement to their current diet) and for

other that may mean something different, like cutting out poisons like chocolate,

coffee or fried foods. An umbrella goal of directing individual goals towards

the group goal of becoming “more raw”

would accommodate for success on a variety of levels. We would not exclude those who are not

ready to achieve 100% but wish to be on the path and yet it would allow those

who are ready an opportunity for the personal challenge.

 

The same goes for physical exercise. Some

may prefer yoga and walking while others prefer running and swimming. The main group goal may be to ”improve your level of fitness or activity for the

21 days”, while individual goals may vary on frequency/type/intensity/duration. Maybe someone wants to exercise 5 days a

week as opposed to the 2 days a week they do now. Or for 45 minutes a session as opposed to

the 20 minutes they do now.

 

Some people may find the following

helpful. If they are, use them, if

not, ignore them. (I stated a group goal merely as an example….obviously

we can tweek them for common happiness!!!)

 

GROUP GOAL: To come closer to 100% organic/raw than

I am now for 21 days.

 

To figure out your personal goal, ask

yourself the following:

How raw

am I now?

·

How raw

do I want to be?

·

How can

I improve on the quality of my food ~ growing/purchasing more organic than I do

now. Eating more raw fruits/veggies than I do now.

·

What can

I commit to for 21 days?

·

Is this

something I hope to continue for more than the 21 days? Do I wish to continue

for more than 21 days?

 

GROUP GOAL: To improve the quality of

exercise/fitness for 21 days.

 

To figure out your personal goals:

·

Determine

the frequency, duration, intensity, and type of exercise you participate in

weekly/monthly.

·

Which component

of exercise do I wish to improve on? (type ~ strength, flexibility,

cardiovascular, endurance, )

(duration ~ amount of time per workout session) (Intensity ~ how hard you plan to

work) (frequency

~ how often in the week you plan to work out). You can increase one or more than one

area, the choice is individual.

·

FYI for

beginners ~ A good general goal for cardiovascular fitness

is to exercise 3-5 days a week for 20-60 minutes in your target heart rate

zone.

 

GROUP GOAL: To connect and unite with the group on a

posted common focus to grow spiritually.

 

·

Post a

group focus like Nancy’s thought for day 1.

·

Commit

to reading the goals and focusing at the designated time for the 21 days. (if you can’t

commit to the group time, commit to a time that works for you if you identify

with this group goal.)

·

Group

focus can range from motivation and focusing on the challenge, to sending

energy/prayers/thoughts to a needy cause (war/poverty/hate/killing etc) or some

in-depth thought for the group to ponder.

 

GROUP GOAL: To communicate as a group (or

individually) progress, thoughts, insights and ideas through posting, reading

and responding to posts.

Come up

with a personal goal to improve the level of communications you do through

posts.

·

For

example, “I will post at least one positive happening a week.” Or I will post at least one “thought

for the day during the 21 days.” Or for some of you, even a small goal

such as..…”I will say HI to the group so they know I’m out

here” J

 

 

Dr Sunyatta, I

am glad to hear you will be broadcasting the challenge again this year. It was your Spring Cleaning Challenge

last spring that brought me such wonderful results through the unity of purpose. When I didn’t hear anything coming

this season (I don’t get your station and hadn’t heard anything on

the loop), I was inspired to throw it out to the loop in hopes that our group

would jump to the chance to unite in a personal/group challenge. I really enjoyed your thoughts for

conscious eating, as well. They give great direction for objectively measuring

the value of the foods we choose.

 

Two days and counting…..Lynda, I

will do the fast with you tomorrow in anticipation of the Equinox Challenge

beginning on Wednesday.

RE: Thought for

day One

 

 

Welcome to Autumn.

It is a time of change. A time to release the old and embrace the

new. Revise your thinking to believe in the health and vitality

that comes with the raw lifestyle. Love yourself: your body, your

soul. One of the most meaningful revelations that came to me was:

" The best way we can love others is my caring for ourselves. "

We can nurture our bodies into health through exercise and raw eating. Through

this we become full of energy. As we feel better, this joy and

energy transfers to our spirit and attitude which then changes our

way of thinking and empowers us to love those around us all the more.

So...do the most loving thing you can today - care for yourself and it will

soon be spilling over onto all those that come your way. Enjoy and trust

in God. Be yourself and enjoy who you are.

Our Raw Family

Intent

 

 

Dear Raw Family:

today is the day to put forth our intent. (if any one has any other

thoughts on this please send them out immediately) I think that we should have a group intent and a

personal intent. Tomorrow would also be a Great time to fast or juice. 6:00AM

is a good focus time. Since we have a dual mission it seemed appropriate to

suggest that we visualize, mediate, pray for 15 to 30 minutes and exercise

shortly after that. For the group's intent: Revitalize every system of our

bodies with 100% live organic foods for 21 days. We can list our personal

intent on line or with individuals. Let's decide ?? As the time is upon us Lets

decide now. Pour out all suggestions and come to a conclusion this evening.

PS. PBS has been showing a program on Intent with Wayne Dwyer.

Last time I came in on the tail end of the challenge. I was planning on waiting until Oct. 1 to challenge myself, but September 22 sounds like a more divine time to begin. I will join the group. I agree with the idea of elevating from where you are--it's much more attainable mentally, at least for me. I have everything I need in terms of exercise (Yoga DVDs, Firm Program DVDs for cardio & strength training) so I have no challenges there. My challenge will be the food. I do not have all of my tools (juicer, dehydrator, food processor), but I will push through it anyway. I look forward to joining everyone and tracking the progress.
