Raw Enzymes and Connecting Spiritually

Hello Raw Soul: I am catching up on the "weekend news" and

wanted to comment. I appreciate the discussion about enzymes and

B-12...the reminders about why I do what I do.

From my own experience, I was in a near panic space almost last year

this time because I was having health problems. My sister brought

Raw Foods for Thanksgiving, or Christmas, and that was my call back on

track. Six months later I feel so much healthier, I've the

lost 30 pounds that were "hanging around," have bounds of energy, and feel

very connected spiritually. Yet, I was at a diabetes Walk-a-Thon

(of all places for there to be mounds of junk food!!) this morning and

there was a moment I really wanted those brownies, chocolate chip cookies,

peanut butter cookies, etc. In the past, I would have been standing

around that table loading up before the walk-a-thon. I've

found that having conversations with myself really helps. ..Do you really

want that food that is mostly pre-packaged chemical additives? I

felt very happy with the fruit... I think what Mark said about trying things

out on your own body applies..if you listen and watch you will know whether

you should supplement or not.

I also wanted to comment about our earlier conversation late last week,

about the group being a vehicle for supporting each other spiritually.

Whether the group ultimately chooses to travel to the tropics or do something

on line, I think it would be nice to support each other more intentionally.

I'll speak for myself...I read about the workshops and retreats happening

and I always send a positive thought for whoever is facilitating. But it's

a thought or two. I'm talking about intentionally taking 15

minutes or more for everyone. Maybe we can begin this process by

choosing a specific time, or a couple of times during the week (someone

mentioned this in an earlier e-mail)...while we are at home or work we

join in prayer, meditation, salat, gratitude, sit by a tree, etc.

(honoring different faith based practices) and connect in that way.

Perhaps we could begin our "excursions" by choosing some type of retreat

center or campground, that is close to the DC area, allowing a couple of

months advance time, so that people who are out of the area can make arrangements

to come, doing it at cost of renting a space more locally, setting

up a scholarship fund or exchange activities fund so people who want to

come but can't financially are enabled to participate, and setting up a

program for us..I ran into a friend the other day who was going camping

with a group of friends, and they broke down into groups and each

group was assigned a meal to prepare for the entire group. Doing

something like that would afford everyone the opportunity to "be served"

and also share their special dishes...This type of gathering shouldn't/wouldn't

take away from the work people are doing, but it seems like it would bring

clarity, expansion, and attract new people to your work because of

the empowerment of the group...Just some thoughts...Everyone have a great

week...blessings...Ashtarra
