Greetings Members:

We are now just beyond the 60 day mark since we ended the 21 day plunge into the Raw (Live) Foods lifestyle.

Anyone care to share your experiences on how things are going for you? Are you still on track?

This is now also the perfect time of the year to experiment with new and unfamiliar fresh, organic produce. Just yesterday, I saw for the first time "Sesame Leaves" and I must admit that although I use sesame seeds and oil, I've never imagined sesame leaves OR what to do with them.

Here are some some new (and familiar) items you should be trying and if anyone has seen or tried others that I may have missed please share.

Leechy Nuts

White Cherries

Sweet Cherries

Bings Cherries

Lots of pears, plums, berries

Melons

Pineapples

Very soon, look for the "Monster Fruit"

Purple Cauliflower or some call is Purple Broccoli

Purple Spring Onions

Scrapes (long green w/a little bulb at the top, garlicky or onion taste, great choped for salads)

Mexican Avocados

Although available year round, try all of the Kales, purple, green and lacinato

Swiss Chards (yellow, red & green)

My motto is: Try something new every week that you've never tasted before.

Good Health to You!

Elaine

> Scrapes

That's " Scapes " (no " r " )

I've been enjoying them!

Today I had the day off, and went to Spoutwood Farm, and picked broccoli,

squash, and kale, and bundled flowers and chard, and made share

deliveries. Much more meaningful than my paid work, but then, maybe it was

just the change of pace that made it so delightful.

BTW, I'm doing raw food potluck in Baltimore on Thursday, give a ring, or

an email if you'd like to attend (all are welcome)

(Attendees are black, white, young, old, hearing, deaf, and basically,

whomever shows up on a given every-other-Thursday. Food's always been

terrific.)

I'm not 100% raw, but I do love raw cuisine.

Sincerely,

Margie
