Guest guest
Hi Ama...I read your e-mail and was tickled about what you said about your friends and family, because I know the experience. I recently attended a work related meeting (everyone has contact with folks with eating disorders) where we had lunch together. When I didn't eat anything cooked, although I explained the purpose of my choices at this time, I could see the raised eyebrows, the looks, and the questions. From the questions they asked, I knew they thought I had developed an eating disorder and I was pretty amused. I went off raw foods before too in the past, partially because I was tired of the raised eyebrows, etc. So, I returned to eating some of what everyone else was eating, and now I have some of the same health issues! At this point, I've decided that the people around me will just have to have their uninformed assumptions, but maybe when they see my energy, my healthy body, and deepened spirituality, they'll look again. In the meantime, I am choosing to do what is most healthy for me and will also honor their choices.
