Guest guest
Hi there everyone! Been enjoying the posts. I'm wondering if there are resources for knowing/buying in-season produce. By resources, I mean books or URLs or your own mind. How can we go to a store and determine when to buy mangoes from mexico or something like that. Thanks for all the help! Oh also, can you guys tell me what you do with the kale and chard? Just cut up and eat like salad? Regards, Linda
Guest guest
Hi Linda, You will find information in the archives that I posted some time ago on resources, shopping and books. I forget the message numbers right away but search for topics of " Fruit IS all that " " INFO AND MORE INFO 1 & 2 " and " Websites " . There should also be information listed on the side bar under FILES. In the mean time here is a recipe for marinated greens: Ingredients for Green Salad: Purple Kale Lacinato Kale Rainbow Chard Green Kale Baby Collards Broccoli Cauliflower Cabbage Brussel Sprouts Avocado Alpha Sprouts Red and Yellow bell pepper Tomato Marinate all except avocado, sprouts, peppers and tomato 1 cup Nama Shoyu Soy Sauce ¼ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil Juice of one lemon Strain all vegies from sauce, serve over bed of spring salad mix and sprouts. Top with avocado, bell peppers and tomatoes or whatever you desire. (A good detoxifier) NOTE: All ingredients should be organically grown and of course you may mix any combination you like. Enjoy! Guest guest
Hi Linda I found this wonderful recipe for kale. I used Laticino kale, but the regular kale can be used also. 1 bunch of kale 1/2 lemon or lime juice ( about 1tablespoon) 1 ripe avocado (cut into small pieces) red onion 1/4 cup of cold pressed flaxseed oil or extravirgin olive oil cold pressed 1/2 cup of cremini mushroom slice prepare the dressing with the oil onion, lemon juice, cut the kale into small pieces by hand and mix all the ingredients. Add avocado before serving. Marinate for at least 10 minutes. I usually prepared it overnight Enjoy Nadine Linda Wooliever <linda wrote: Hi there everyone! Been enjoying the posts.
