Guest guest
Ankh Udja Soneb Sistar, First, let me say in being in a Sacred Union, I feel we should always build in love with like mind, soul, spirit, heart and body. A kindred in all lights of life. Now, I am in the midst of working on living a veg life for always. For now, I do occasionally have flesh, but I reach for wholistic consciousness with my King. We boht study and learn. He gives me things to think about, I receive from the Ancestors and others in our family as well. And vice versa. We listen and learn. Together. Because this is our choice of living, this is so easily. I feel by living this life, your mate, if not already on the path, will be as well. I know of one Sacred Union that is so loving and eternal where he was veg and she wasn't. After cooking for him and eating what he makes for himself, instantly she came to live this life as well. It made sense to her. Not only that, she was destined to be on one accord with her soulmate. We are ushered together by the Most Divine One and our Ancestors. They know who is blessed for us. Who our Anointed Love is. So you will meet the man for you.. and he may not be veg or raw, but he will be on that path. You will be of like everything. Trust. (smile) Everyday I am growing with my beloved. We are both on the path of wholistic consciousness. We are embarking it together as One. This will happen for all those open in mind and willing and determined in heart. peace love respect, Queen Cynequa RESIST REVOLT REVIVE the sooner, the better. Guest guest
Thank You Sister Sunyatta; that gives all of us seeking right relationships the information that we need to stay firm in our convictions. I have fried chicken and curried it too. For the entertainment of men that I have friendships with. Not very long ago I give that up. However I was doubting if I could really have a relationship that forfills my ideals. Thank you for reminding me that the universe will supply me with just what I ask for. May you enjoy raw cake at my wedding !! Love. Lynda
Guest guest
Greetings Shakti, Similar lifestyles are very important to me. I made up my mind some years ago (after some challenging dating experiences with flesh-eaters) that I would only date vegetarians. I’ve been tauntingly referred to as a “health-nut” by my date to the waiters at restaurants when I asked if soups were made with chicken stock; been laughed at when I told an ex that his asthma was just an allergic reaction to dairy (he drank milk in his cereal every morning and LOVE cheese- used an inhaler 2x a day too). And to keep it really real, I came to realize that didn’t like the smell of men who ate flesh. Seemed that they just had a meat-funk about them. J At first, I thought dating only veggies may severely limit my dating pool but it was amazing how many vegetarians I started to meet once I made that one of my criteria. The Universe seems to give you what you ask for. But you have to be firm in asking and no compromises. Fast forward to me meeting my husband. We met at a local healthfood store. Our first date was at a local veggie restaurant (he brought his own avocado!). And our next date was him asking if he could make us some live food (he made live burritos with avocado chutney and marinated Portobello and sun-dried tomato). With the first bite I was hooked. When I told his mother about that date and how his food really made me pay attention to him, she laughed, “My son put a root on you!” Well, if that good food was a ‘root’, put it on me! :-) So all this to say that the food and our lifestyle was how we met and what attracted us to each other. In fact, he told me later that he had seen me in that healthfood store before but waited till the next time to say anything. He figured if he saw me at the store again it was meant to be. So if each of us hadn’t been going there so often, I supposed we would’ve missed each other. I know many couples who are not on the same page where health is concerned and it causes many issues. Holiday time and childrearing seem particularly problematic. Also, if the couple should separate the children suffer greatly by not knowing what to eat and having different lifestyles in each household. Be well, ~Sunyatta p.s. - One of the thoughts that kept me going on the vegan dating/marriage thing was that kissing or being intimate with someone who eats flesh, inorganic and refined foods seemed to defeat the purpose of me not eating that stuff. healingoasis [healingoasis] Sunday, December 14, 2003 10:32 PM Raw Relationships Greetings, I'm curious about the choices made in intimate relationships. I'm single & dating & go back & forth about whether my potential mate should be a strict vegetarian/vegan or an occassional fish/chicken eater as long as he's healthy in other ways. I have 2 single sista friends, one who's dating casually, the other who's marriage minded & they both agree it's relatively challenging to find a (single & available) Black man who chooses this health lifestyle. I'd love any feedback/advice from others about relationship choices: some of you are married/seriously involved with carnivores, what challenges does that present? Those who are involved/married to a vegan/vegetarian, did one of you change your diet to accomodate the other? How important do others think it is for your mate to be vegan/veggy/raw? What are the pros, cons and other considerations for either choice? Thanks so much for any wisdom shared on this topic! Blessings, Shakti
Guest guest
Hetep, Thanks for your feedback Queen! I especially appreciated your reminder that the path one walks on is the path our mates will also be walking on. Guest guest
Peace Sunayatta, Thank you so much for your feedback & sharing you & your mates story, very beautiful! One of my concerns about dating/being intimate with non-veg men is the toxicity level of their bodies as you alluded to. My reproductive organs are vibrantly healthy & I'd like to keep them that way, I'm afraid a non-veg man would upset my internal balance. Thanks also for the reminder that what we put out to the universe is what we'll recieve in return. And maybe I'll start spending more time in health food stores! ;-) Namaste, Shakti , " Dr. Sunyatta Amen " <dr.sunyatta@v...> wrote: > Greetings Shakti, > > > > Similar lifestyles are very important to me.
