An Adinkra cloth is the colorful, hand-painted and hand-embroidered cloth used for mourning by the Akan people of Ghana and the Gyaman of Cote d'Ivoire, This particular symbol is the Gye Nyame (Jeh N-yah-mee). It's literal translation is " EXCEPT GOD " or " TIS ONLY GOD " . It is the symbol of omnipotence, omnipresence and immortality of God. " Except God, I fear none " . gye-except Nyame-god gye Nyame-I am afraid of none, except God. Hope this information was useful.
