I eat a banana or two before a workout. Sometimes I also take an

apple to eat after I'm done, in case I'm starving.

First I want to thank everyone who replied to my grocery

store

list request. I'm happy to say I have a kitchen full of the

" right

stuff " (thanks to this list, farmer's markets, tupperware and

Whole

Foods:)

Now, I have a new question. I love salads and fruits and

the

light feeling I get from them. My problem comes when I work

out. I

don't feel like i have enough carbs or calories or something to

keep

me going.

Does anyone have good advice on what a good (and preferably

easy)

pre-work out snack is? Something about protien bars just don't

seem

appealing anymore.

See how the human animal gets a " light feeling " from salads and

fruits if he's honest about his emotions. We're all the same in this

regard, some are just clearer about it than others.

 

Personally, I love my energy raw. I pray I don't break it. But the

raw lifestyle has to be aligned with other realities in our belief

system. For me, my main struggle is to be sexually moral. At least

if I could just believe in marriage rather than any other way of

getting sex, that would be a step in the right direction. I've been

raw and celibate since early this year. But because my energy is so

positive, I'm getting the notice of women now and then. And I want

to take advantage of such opportunities. But I know it would be

wrong for me. And shortly afterwards, raw food wouldn't mean much to

me anymore. I'm sure I would relapse on cooked food, if I was in a

relationship that I didn't feel was God's will for me or moral by my

intuitive standards.

 

I know these sexual feelings are just coming up gangbusters because

my body and mind are going through a cleansing stage raw. If I just

stay true to my current course, my whole system will flush itself out

sooner or later and I'll find a way of living that I'm truly

comfortable with. If I could just stay true to my raw food diet even

when I'm not eating, I wouldn't have any problems. But it's easy to

forget about food throughout the day.

 

Plus, if I lost my raw food, I'd probably drink, which is generally

not good news for this alcoholic.
