Guest guest
Hi, I am new also and have just been lurking for the past few days to get a feel for the list. It is comforting to see there are so many others like me who are just becoming familiar with this. I have a couple of concerns, one of which is that I am nursing an 8 month old and I worry about getting enough calories and protein to maintain breastmilk (she is exclusively breastfed). My husband and I are looking to gradually convert over, and I was wondering how this affects the health benefits of eating raw. In other words, will you still see noticeable improvements in health/well-being, even when you are still eating cooked food also? I am just wondering this from a physiological standpoint, since I understand that the raw foods are supposed to alter your gut flora, etc. I am curious how badly occasional cooked food would upset this balance. Also I am wondering if there is anyone familiar with our area, which is Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati. We are relatively new here, having moved from the Southwest where alternative lifestyles were abundant...here it seems very conservative and hard to find support and also good places to shop for raw/natural foods (no Trader Joe's!!! Wah!!!). Thanks a bunch! Guest guest
I don't know how it works for anyone else, but I receive no psychological benefits unless I'm 100% raw. I believe it's God's will for me to eat raw and I know I don't progress mentally unless I'm 100%. Anything less and I get severe anxiety and guilt. Physically, I feel tremendously better than I do eating any other way. Less sleep is needed, I'm clear headed and energetic, joyful almost, in spite of any tribulations that occur in my day. Bowel movements are much simpler and easier too. I took a look at some of your baby pictures, very nice.
