Guest guest
Peter, When you say " green leaves " would romaine lettuce fit that category or are you only speaking about spinach and other green leafy vegetables. I eat fruit late at night (usually 3 hours after my dinner). Do you think it would be better to exchange the two and eat fruit at dinner and then eat a very large salad as late as 9 or 10? I usually am lucky to get to bed by 1 a.m. Of course, I am working at getting to bed earlier, but it seems that I'm very productive with my work late at night. I love eating fruit and haven't noticed a stimulating effect from it at night. Thanks. Viveca
Guest guest
Viveca, The very best is to eat nothing in the morning until you are really hungry. Then eat fruit. At lunch time eat a salad with some low sugared vegetables such as a tomato, red pepper, lettuce etc. Then for dinner go for the dark green leaves. Sometimes I eat an avocado in the afternoon. Then in the early evening a spoon of flax seeds half an hour or more before dinner. If hunger attacks at night, green leaves or even water are best. That way you sleep on a quiet digestion. I should have mentioned that I have read in this forum so many times from people who used to suffer from depression and have pulled out on a raw diet. The basic idea is to get the body alkaline and away from the acids. Once the chemistry is right then most depressions will life. Trouble often is that some little item is upsetting the chemistry. A culprit can be alcohol for example or there are much more vicious kinds which are3 generated by parasites but that sort of territory belongs to the psychiatrists. In the past I have had mild bouts of depression but since going raw, I feel impermeable to it.
