Guest guest
Hi all, I am back in snowing at the moment Colorado. A big change from the past week in San Diego and Hollywood where I spent the last week. I completed my first raw marathon and though I didn't do as well as I hoped it was not due to my being raw, rather that I just felt so good that I went out too fast and caused some problems for my legs. Hey, but I'm smart and learned from my mistake - September's marathon in Utah will be a different story. While in San Diego I celebrated my 50th birthday and had my pre-race dinner at Cilantro's in Chula Vista. It was pretty good. I had the sampler plate because I wanted a taste of everything and not too much of the same thing. For dessert I enjoyed a piece of carrot cake and look forward to making some myself. In Hollywood I went to a health food store that sells prepared raw food and had a couple of meals from there, they were quite yummy - thanks for the link whoever sent it to the list. On Friday we went to Santa Monica and played in the surf. It was in the 70's and warm. My granddaughter and I had a blast and I got quite a workout with her. I had a fantastic surprise when we went looking for a lunch spot. I ended up eating alone and it was heaven. I found Julianno's Raw. I enjoyed a salad, (the greens were great and different from what I use) with green goddess salad dressing - I have to find that recipe. My entree was a tostado with hummus, guacamole and all kinds of good stuff and dessert was a chocolate mousse cake with macadamia cream and raspberries. I never spent $40 for lunch before, but it was worth it. When I got home I was quite pleased to find the rest of my raw books had been delivered including Raw Power. Thanks again for all the info about CA raw restaurants. I am heading for Miami, Ft Lauderdale and West Palm beach in 3 weeks to visit my sister, Viveca. She is hooking us up with quite a few raw places to try. Jann Denver, CO
