Guest guest
just wanted to send out a warning that if you let your cat outdoors, or your neighbors do so, to keep household products & potential poisons out of reach & safely tucked away. My aunt and uncle lost their beloved little Hot Shot Saturday night to poisoning. The regular and emergency vets think it may have been antifrieeze. A couple of neighborhood teenager were kind enough to take hotshot in when they found him in such pathetic condition. They went to my aunt and asked if they had a cat (and they described hotshot's markings). At least he got home and saw his mommy & daddy before he died en route to the vet's office. So, please, please PLEASE keep an eye on what your cats (or other pets even) can get into. You could save their life. Bad enough, my grandma died this weekend, then my poor aunt had to go through losing her oldest cat too. Needless to say it hasnt' been a good week. Guest guest
My heart goes out to you and your family, Megan. Hang in there. ((hug)) ~ PT ~ Is god willing to prevent evil but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Guest guest
It's called the law of sowing. " What you reap, that shall you also sow. " And even though we don't commit certain acts of aggression, the Earth system is a whole, and any act of violence affects the entire organism. The law of sowing states 1. You reap WHAT you sow 2. You reap AFTER you sow and 3. You reap MORE THAN you sow. > Is god willing to prevent evil but not able? > Then he is not omnipotent. > Is he able but not willing? > Then he is malevolent. > Is he both able and willing? > Then whence cometh evil? > Is he neither able nor willing? > Then why call him god? > ~ Epicurus (341-270 BCE)
Guest guest
That is terribly sad. I do not let my cats out as we have coyotes in the area, and I have seen one with a cat in his mouth. I do work on my car, mostly topping up fluids. I hadn't thought of this before, but it is very important to clean up any spillage, or at minimum, wash it down with lots of water. It takes very little antifreeze to kill a small animal, and the taste is apparently very attractive to pets.
