Guest guest
You could check local flea markets or fruit stands, you can order organic food through mail order, but that's expensive as well. You can grow a garden. Grow some sprouts, you can abtain organic seeds like alfalfa or buckwheat and sprout them. Sprouts are high in minerals, amino acids and vitamins. Post a sign at your local health store. Many times, health food stores throw away a lot of things like over ripe avocadoes, tomatoes, etc..Ask them to give it to you. Ask around... Best of luck! Guest guest
Carmen, I live in Seattle. In this area we are fortunate to have some grocery stores which give us great deals on cases of produce (organic and commercial.) When they allow us to purchase cases, their volume increases which give them better prices with distributors. It may also give them higher turnover of their produce, keeping it fresher. They are happy to give us great prices as a result. We get as low as 25% over their cost. Some co-ops will give members 10% off of retail. That is not quite as good a deal, but at least they offer some discount. If you have a number of people in your area who are interested in purchasing cases of produce, try approaching the produce managers of stores carryng organic produce and see who will give you the best deals. If the stores recognize they may be able to get higher volumes of produce by working with you, they may give you a good deal. If you cannot eat entire cases yourself, you can split cases with friends. You can also purchase cases, then take them to potlucks to share the price breaks with others. Guest guest
Hi Carmen, Check out Trader Joe's, I looked up on their website & they have a store in Philadelphia. We usually find great deals on organic produce there. Kim Smith Las Vegas, NV.
