Guest guest
Bridgitte, I forgot to mention that I, too, have suffered from TMJ. I went to a naturopath/osteopath (all blended into one nice man with a vast knowledge of both!) and he helped tremendously. In fact, it has not returned. I do, however, feel twinges if I chew too much ~ one sided because of a tooth problem, which is understandable. That's why I love the idea of juicing vegetables. Imagine having a tmj session and having to eat a raw carrot. Ouch! I've also learned that if you clench your teeth and feel for your muscles either side, just under your earlobes, as well as the muscles either side near your temples, and press them for about 20 seconds at a time with your fingers, release, then repeat for about three times, this also helps. Not a cure, of course, just a little relief. Oh, and again ~ the good ol' peppermint oil can help, if nipped in the bud.
