Guest guest
Jay: 1. You will be able to eat that pound of salad in a snap by letting all your ingredients spin around in the food processor using the " S " blade until it looks like salsa or finer. Your stomach, not being accustomed to the fiber, will thank you for getting some assistance in the chewing department. Adding cilantro and red bell pepper will liven it up a lot. 2. After doing the above, you may love it as is, however, a few drops of nama shoyu, apple cider vinegar (unfiltered such as Spectrum or Braggs), dried onion or celery bits, vegetable glycerin, miso, Tabasco Habanero (not all together) are some things that will add variety and keep you interested. Wrapping this salsa in a sheet of nori (seaweed) is yummy stuff and gives you daily iodine. 3. Although you do not need to eat any cooked vegetables at all, I think you should eat them (any that you mentioned) only if you have the desire (you're thinking to yourself that you're hungry and raw foods don't satisfy). Why force yourself to ingest foods (cooked) that must rely on your body's enzyme reserves to digest? If you do, steam them with a little water. Place them not above (the usual way), but in the water for a few minutes. Drink this water with your food. I cite this Frederic Patenaude's The Raw Secrets in giving this suggestion. Not as good as raw, but still good for you. 3. Dressings: Sprinkling ground up cashews mixed with coconut oil is a fine addition to your nori wraps. Ground golden flax, alone or mixed with some glycerin, gives food a buttery flavor and provide essential fatty acids. Dr. Douglas Graham has great suggestions all around in his High Energy Diet Recipe Guide. 4. Lastly, if you have what you feel are side effects like bloating or gas, stay with the program but try not to live with it too long. I am almost sure you will experience it just with the change in diet. Change what you are doing or ask the forum here or read a good reference like The Raw Secrets, which talks about indigestion, food combining, and common pitfalls. Even good food can debilitate you if taken haphazardly. I may get some opposition of this one particularly, however, I am a big believer in bentonite clay. Do your own research and decide. http://www.curezone.com/forums/m.asp?f=76 & i=2 is a place where participants go back and for debating about it. I first heard about it in Power Juices Super Drinks by Steve Meyerowitz (he is known as the Sproutman).
