Guest guest
Hi, My name is Sheryl. I'm new to this group, but I'm new in my experimentations with moving into a raw vegan diet. I have a Cucuisinart blender, food processor and I just, today, ordered a SnackMaster® Express Food dehydrator by Nesco American Harvest. (I know that Excalibur is the best....but before I invest in the very best, I wanted to experiment with a lower cost model.) I'm realizing that now that the weather is getting colder that I can no longer tolerate frozen fruit or cold beverages. So here are some questions. 1. How do I warm my food so that the enzyme activity is still very much present? 2. Is it safe for me to soak my dried fruits and nuts on the kitchen counter without fear of bacteria entering the food? (I am currently soaking my figs and nuts in filtered water and keeping it in the refrigerator over night.) If not, how do I warm up the cold fruit and nuts without cooking? 3. How do I warm up soups to the safe 109 degree - 118 degree temperature at work where I only have a microwave and a refrigerator available to me? (I work in an office situation.) Thank you so much. I am thrilled to have discovered this group. By the way, for any folks who live in the Montgomery, PA area, come to Arnold's Raw Food Cafe in Lansdale, PA. He has many events and serves 100% raw foods.
