Guest guest
I've read the many replies I've received here in the group and by private email. Thank you to everyone for helping me. Based on the different ideas I've received from all of you I've decided to be flexible and ease into my dietary changes rather than plunging in with exact perfection which was my original plan.(lord knows that would have probably been difficult) I've decided to begin tomorrow with a cleansing fast utilizing distilled water and occasional citrus fruits or freshly squeezed juices(what is the least amount of fruit I can eat to still reap the advantages of this fast?). Depending on how I feel that may last 3-4 days.(would an entire week of fasting this way as a newcomer be dangerous?) Note: If by some change I don't feel fully cleansed or satisfied I MAY consider utilizing an herbal/natural colon cleanser to detox fully.(I'm hoping that won't be necessary) I will graduate to eating 40% cooked vegetables, 10% cooked grains, and 50% uncooked fruit for two weeks(will the cooked veggies and grains make the earlier fast in vain?). The 3rd week I will add nuts and seeds while replacing the 40% cooked vegetables with half cooked and half raw vegetables while mainintaining the same amount of 10% cooked grains and 50% uncooked fruits.(does that make sense?) Around Christmas I hope to be practicing a complete raw vegan lifestyle. However, if that is still too difficult for me I may consider maintaining a diet of 70% raw food and 30% lightly steamed and/or cooked veggies and grains along with uncooked fruits, nuts, seeds, ect. If it takes me a few months to fully implement this lifestyle the decrease in cooked food and increase in live food will still reap great rewards I suspect. Note: Worse scenario, if I feel that I need to have some portion of flesh protein I may add fish at least once per day or a few times per week. Which means I may elect to practice a vegetarian lifestyle for awhile before going completely vegan and/or a raw foodist. I've learned from everyone that each person must customize their diet and progress at their own pace depending on where they are starting from. My only problem is that the holidays are near and things will be financially tight on this end for awhile. So I'm seeking ideas for modestly priced fruits, veggies, ect that will go a long way until I can fully shop for the foods I want around Christmas and therafter. I hope the above breakdown made sense. I am open to all constructive criticism and advice. Lili p.s. I plan to take before photos of my body and skin from all angles to compare the transformation after a few months to a year.
Guest guest
Hi Lili: I can't respond to your post in full right now, but eating fish means you are not vegetarian, unless you call yourself, pesce- vegetarian....which is sorta funny, because I guess you could eat beef and call yourself bovine-vegetarian. I also eat fish about once a month, and occasionally eggs and milk products. I haven't worked myself up to a complete transition.... I know of an organic farm that delivers produce by the box in the Chicago area. They have 12,000 customers. I don't know if would be cheaper, you can see their website at: www.tcforganics.com Wendy > Note: Worse scenario, if I feel that I need to have some portion of > flesh protein I may add fish at least once per day or a few times per > week.
