Guest guest Posted October 30, 2003 Report Share Posted October 30, 2003 I would like to find some sound information (preferably scientifically tested or studied) about blood sugar " behaviour " while eating a high fruit raw diet. There seem to be a large number of Hygienists or conventional nutritionists " on the vogue " (i.e. assuming a no/low grain/carbohidrate diet) that see fruit as a devil... I am on a high_in_vegetables/low_in_fruit raw diet (moderate in seeds/nuts/fats), and have a 7.3% Glycated Hemoglobine, so I'm afraid a higher amount of fruit will cause an elevation in glucose levels... I have readed some articles about fructose (present in fruits or not) reading it sticks more than glucose to protein to form AGES, and as you don't measure it in common analisys, you don't worry about or notice it, but the result eventually will be the same as for glucose. All my studying on Fruitarian has been dismal as to any logic or science. Here is my experience: I live with a deadly and serious chronic illness. I have fasted and cleansed and detox to the point that I am very sensitive to foods and I can tell of good or bad. This summer I spent three months at a resort eating only sprouts, veggies, Wheatgrass and watermelon. No dressings were permitted. When I came home I went on all fruit because my kitchen is being renovated and this would give be a chance to see how this helps/hurts me and allow the ease of life in the kitchen. I mono-dieted pineapple, occasionally added a few nuts, and/or an apple. While my physical body had energy, my emotions went out of whack (a symptom of my illness). When I went off the mono my pancreas was in mass pain (pancreatitis, due to long term medicinal treatment of my chronic illness, the medical industry almost killed me, MY doctor FULLY ADMITS THIS) When I eat veggies, I experience a little more liberty in life, a balance in my emotions (great peace and happiness) and even energy. From everything I have read and experienced Fruits are good for a healthy person and veggies are good for the sick. Veggies heal and reverse your disease. Disease feeds off fat and sugar. Just a little side not: As a raw foodist inspite of my chronic and serious condition I live a very healthy and energetic life, I have more joy, peace, energy then the average healthy person.
