As one gets older the tendancy to lose muscle and replace it with fat gets greater, usually due to lack of exercise or use of the muscle. I have found that any resistive exercise will maintain muscle. I lift weights about 3X a week, and not heavy wieghts at all. Definitely no strain or pain involve. I don't have bulging muscles like you fellows like, but women don't want them anyway. We just want to maintain our muscle/bone mass and not develop osteporosis. I am still working on mine to get it where i want, i am very close, prolly only a few more months away from being perfect for me. most who are too skinny or too fat should follow what i was talking about, untill they get to be right where they want. then they should cut back on lifitng heavy, and do more maintenance type of lifting, ie high reps.. muscle speeds up metobolism, this will help in loosing fat big time..
