Guest guest
I gained a couple of pounds already, changed my diet drastically, eat loads of proteine and fat now but it didn't help yet.>>> Hi Ina, The post I have is pretty much like the one that was posted from Survival into the Twenty-First Century. It talks a lot about the toxicness of too much protien and fat in our diets causing the body to eliminate thru menses. <<It would be very nice if you could send me the articles. I wonder if other women experience a changement with their cycle since going raw.>>> Being older now, I'll never get the chance to find out about the menses. One thing that I did discover when I went thru menopause, having been a vegetarian for five years, was that I never experienced any of the hot flashes, migraines, or crazyness that some women go thru. All that I experienced was a cessation of the monthly flow. This might fall in line with what the writings of the book said about no need for the body to detox via the menses and when women that have destroyed their reproductive system from poor diets go into menopause, the body has to find another way, thus the terrible episodes with menopause. Sorry I can't be of more help. I've added what I saved as follows. http://www.waldorfhomeschoolers.com/menstruation.htm That website and some of the books it refers to also have testimonials. The most comprehensive book I know of is the classic " Is Menstruation Necessary? " by Wendy Harris and Nadine Forrest MacDonald, Life Science Publishers, Austin, Texas. You can sometimes find it at www.abebooks.com or www.amazon.com, among other used book sources (I think it's out of print), and perhaps through libraries. There may also be some very good pertinent info in the 2 books by Leslie and Susannah Kenton, mentioned in the bibliography of Habib's article. There is no such thing as " menopause " in Nature, because there is no such thing as menstruation in Nature, and there is no such thing as cessation of ovulation in Nature. The term " amenorrhea " refers to the absence of menstruation, it is of questionable use because of its implications that something wrong is occurring when there is cessation of menstruation--in our toxic society, menstruation usually stops when women manifest increasing pathology. But technically, amenorrhea just means an absence of menstruation, and it is applicable. When we become healthy and stop menstruating is NOT " menopause " , since the amenorrhea we are talking about is simply the cessation of menstruation, nothing more. Menopause implies a cessation of ovulation, as well as of menstruation. Menopause is NOT what happens when we become healthier. In our toxic society, women's reproductivity decreases, large numbers of ova end up damaged and discarded by the body, ultimately ending up in the cessation altogether of the ability to ovulate, and the menses stop only because the ovulation stops. But the opposite happens when we become healthy. We simply stop hemorrhaging, and we are more fertile than ever--and we do not stop ovulating. In fact, as our bodies become healthier, our ova become healthier, our reproductive capabilities resume the vitality they are meant to have, they are more vital than ever. Where can we find this absence of menstruation occurring? In every animal in Nature! And as cited in the article, it is also the case in " primitive " cultures. Menstruation is a hemorrhaging, one of the ways the body deals with a pathological condition. When we regain health, we stop hemorrhaging, that is all. And our ovulation, instead of ceasing, becomes healthier and continues. " Science " tells us that we are born with a certain number of ova and that's it, and when those are spent, we are no longer capable of reproduction. However that is based upon what happens in the SAD lifestyle. But in Nature, females are fertile throughout their entire lives, and do not hemorrhage. As we regain our health, we regain our reproductivity, at least as far as the body is still capable of, after cleansing out the toxins and repairing the damage caused by unhealthy diet and lifestyle. Ovulation in Nature is not accompanied by hemorrhaging, or pain, or PMS, or discomfort--that whole mess is nothing but the symptoms of the body trying to eliminate its massive built up toxic overload via a monthly elimination of the endometrium, and it ceases when the body has cleansed and repaired itself to the point where it no longer needs to continually use those channels of extraordinary elimination. Indeed, even childbirth is such a simple thing in Nature, just a part of life. I once saw a film sequence of a woman in a tribe in Africa giving birth. She was in a hut doing chores with other women, and simply walked away when it was time, by herself, to a wooded area, and she simply crouched down, which is the natural position for correct positioning and dilating, so that the baby simply glides out. That is what happened in the film, and the mother simply wiped the baby off with some leaves, and went right back and joined the other people, just resuming life, with the new baby. No trauma, no screaming, no pain, no hours of labor, no hospitals, no doctors, no midwives, no cutting, no tearing, no breach, no big deal, no pathology! Just simple effortless birth, the way it's intended by Nature, the way all creatures in Nature have been doing it for millions, even billions, of years. Again, all of this is just so very simple, though I found it fascinating and amazing when I first heard about it. When the pathology is gone, i.e., when we stop putting toxins into the body, and the body has a chance to clean out, and repair, and maintain its equilibrium and good health, then body functions return to the way they are intended by Nature. It may take a while, we have spent our entire lives heaping pathology on our bodies, but our bodies valiantly seize as thoroughly as possible the chance to regain health and optimal function, and they never stop--they just continue to get healthier and healthier if we live according to the natural principles. The best thing to do, IMO, is to read books which put us on a path toward living according to the principles of Nature. Here are some of my favorites: " Fasting Can Save Your Life " , " Superior Nutrition " , and any others you can find, by Dr. Herbert Shelton " The Natural Food of Man " , and any others you can find, by Hereward Carrington The Life Science Course, if you can find it, by T.C. Fry " Awakening Our Self Healing Body " , by Arthur Baker
