Guest guest
Today was a major milestone in my family! We have eaten the SAD diet all of our lives, and I am now about 75% raw. I am still cooking meat for my family, but a lot less than before. My goal is to have the whole family vegan, and mostly raw. My daughter is a picky eater, and has been hard to convince (she's only 5), but today she came home from Kindergarten and told me that a classmate's brother is " vegetarian, just like me. " I was SO happy to hear her say that. She said she doesn't want any more meat, and that she doesn't really like it any more. She's not ready to give up all of her cooked foods, but she did have beens, carrots and an apple for dinner. She also had some avocado and actually liked it! We talked the produce manager into marking the avocados down to 4/$1, because they were getting VERY ripe. I bought 8, and 3 other moms grabbed some too. I am really getting to know the produce manager, and it's bringing surprise benefits. The other day, he ordered me more grapefruit before I asked, because he knew I must be running low.... I have made a new friend locally who has been vegan for almost 7 years, and is about 70% raw. We are going to take a trip to the city co-op next week. Can't wait to see what I can get there! Just wanted to share my excitement over my daughter's anouncement. Getting ready for my second juice fast. Starting on Wednesday, for 5 days. Does anyone out there do the Psyllium and Liquid Bentonite cleanse? I stocked up, and I'm starting in the morning. Guest guest
Hi Rhonda, That's a lovely story. Thankfully, I think there are a few more vegetarian children around today. It mus tbe hard for them if they are the only one in their class or school. Maybe just her change in attitude now will get her more into a healthy way of eating, it must be a load off your mind. My grocer is very helpful too, now I'm spending the majority of my weekly housekeeping in his shop. Sadly, there is no shop in our town that sells organic or local produce. i looked around and almost all the veg, apart from the potatoes and some of the root veg, came from abroad. How sad is that. If I could only find a local organic farmer somewhere. Love Shell.
