Guest guest
All, It is easy to say that fermented food is not raw and therefore has no place either in this forum or as a concept worth holding for a raw foodist. Such simplistic thinking would ignore that biochemistry is part of healthy digestion and some of that chemistry is such that it is indistinguishable from fermentation. Of course there can be both " good " and " bad " fermentation; the former leading to untold benefits and the latter producing putrification, gut mould and enough to say that we really do not need this stuff in the forum. The question that arises is: " Should we reject all forms of fermentation in all circumstances? " or " Is there a place for fermented food in a raw diet? Hi Peter, Fermented foods are living foods! We eat both raw and living foods. > The question that arises is: " Should we reject > all forms of fermentation in all circumstances? This is another reason I love the Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation, they teach people about fermented foods. They are a traditional food in many cultures. http://www.westonaprice.org/foodfeatures/ml_sauerkraut.html Here is an amazing article on Miso: http://www.topica.com/lists/howweheal/read/message.html? mid=806073069 & sort=d & start=74 EM and probiotics are a good additions to fermented foods and drinks. Gabriel Cousens writes that eating EM will help a person become a " Superperson " and will help to restore and maintain health.
