Guest guest
Hi All, My name is Judy and I was wondering if anyone in the group has done any long term fasting? I am heading out to Tanglewood Wellness Center in MD for most of the month of October. I am wondering about a few things regarding the emotional reactions to fasting. I have been able to read a bit on the physical symptoms, but it is hard to find out what to expect emotionally. I think that the just " being " and resting for 28 days will be bring up alot of " unresolved issues " , and I am wondering how others have felt during fasting for a longer amount of time..Thanks for any advice.. Peace, Jude
Guest guest
Hi Jude, I have done a 28 day water fast. It is good to read all you can on the subject. On the emotional side, you may expect to gain hugely. You will feel yourself grow and heal. It will be like nothing else that you have done in your life before. Thus it is not easy to be compare it with other experiences. I think you will view as an experience in life that should not be missed although it is hardly the kind of thing that one either needs or wants to do regularly. Life will change to before the fast and after the fast! Fear nothing and have a great time. I don't want to scare you but I had a life changing experience while water fasting. I was already raw vegan for 2 years and already had developed serious sproblems with adrenal weakness, fatigue, anxiety, inability to gain strenth, hair loss, etc. After 2 ten day water fasts I became so ill and that it took me over a year to feel better. I was shaking vilently and my heart was beating so hard it felt like it was going to explode. I was so dixxy for days I could hardly see. I stuck with this so called " healing crisis " but it just got so worse that I afraid for my life. I beleive I was already deficient while fasting and fasting just made things worse. Those fasts " did me in " for over a year. They fried my adrenals and turned me into a wreck. I developed low cortisol and aldosterone (adrenal hormones). That is when I had to go on welfare for over a year. Those fasts simply ate away my already deficient organs. I'm not saying that water fasts are bad necessarily. Its just that if you already have serious deficiencies and lack of reserves, serious blood sugar problems, etc, a long water fast can badly damage your organs. Even many NAtural Hygene fasting professionals agree with this. Pete > > > > > - In rawfood , " Peter Gardiner " <petergardiner@e...> > wrote: > > Hi Jude, > > > > I have done a 28 day water fast. Guest guest
Jude, My medical backup was that if I felt ill, I would either break the fast or visit a doctor or both.
