Guest guest
Rusty, Have you ever read any Norm Walker books on juicing veges? I juice veges for breakfast and lunch every day and have a huge salad for supper with homemade avocado flax seed dressing. I enjoy whole fruits whenever I am hungry. I heard a saying " Juice veges, but eat your fruit. " The fiber in the fruit slows down the digestion of the sugar in the fruit. I used to have BIG problems with unstable blood sugar. Now I am steady going and feel grrreat. The reason for juicing as I understand it is that when the fiber is removed you can drink the vege juice (within 5 minutes or the vits. are lost) and it bypasses the digestive system quickly and goes right into your bloodstream. Flood your cells with nourishment! Ahhhh! So satisfying! For those of us with broken down digestive systems and for those of us that are malnourished from years and years of not eating right and for those of us that want to lose weight (I've lost 30 pounds so far and while breastfeeding too!) I'd like to say that for me JUICING IS THE ANSWER. Jenny Silliman Sequim, WA ______________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! Surf the web up to FIVE TIMES FASTER! Guest guest
Hi Jenny, I even know how to pronounce your town's name [skwim] right? I live across the salt chuck in Victoria. - >e reason for juicing as I understand it is that > when the fiber is removed you can drink the vege juice (within 5 minutes > or the vits. are lost) and it bypasses the digestive system quickly and > goes right into your bloodstream. More fiber and slower release is better, but if you must juice for your valid reasons juice small portions and sip over 5 minutes rather then gulping. Veggies such as stalk veggies like celery or leafy stuff like Kale would be easier on the pancreas than fruits perhaps but carrots or beets would have as much sugar as apples and release just as quickly. The idea is not to release sugar to the bloodstream faster and in larger quantites that the body's fuel requirement of the moment. Even during a master cleanse I sip the lemonade over time rather than downing a glassful at a once. Sure juice gives you concetrated goodies but it also gives quick relase sugar. Try to keep the insulin requiremet down to avoid Syndrome -X. Juicing takes the food from a glycemic index of 32 to about 85. You really should avoid or ration anything over 55. check out: http://www.syndrome-x.net/ or do a google search for < " glycemeic index " > > heard a saying " Juice veges, but eat your fruit.
