Guest guest
I like your point Mary, I am going to test it by taking the probiotics and seeing what they do for me. Will let you know. All the recent emails on probiotics makes me wonder why a raw eating healthy person needs a probiotic? why aren't the healthful bacteria there and why aren't they staying? I used shaklee probiotics when my daughter had thrush (instead of going to the doctor) and they seemed to work great. I thought about continueing with the product but then thought of how much that is like being on medicine. Medicine of course bene's the drug company most. So if I did continue on a probiotics course I would have defeated the point of not going to the doctor. Isn't diet the key to health? Can a raw diet sustain the helpful organisms that live in or gut? (I certainly don't mean to step on any pro probiotic believers toes) Mary

Guest guest
Hi, I think probiotics can be beneficial even to raw foodists. If we had had a healthy life from day one, we wouldn't need them. But so many of us have eaten cooked foods for the most of our lives, so many of us have taken drugs of all sorts, most of us have taken antibiotics more than once. Not to mention alcohol, stress, nutrition-depleted food, overly hygienic environment - all of this added together does not provide an environment for the good bacteria to survive. I was told that the culture for probiotics is taken from a newborn baby's feces... so it's there in the beginning. We just destroy it along the way. /Mimi rawfood , proudmary23@j... wrote: > HI! > > All the recent emails on probiotics makes me wonder why a raw eating > healthy person needs a probiotic? why aren't the healthful bacteria there > and why aren't they staying?
