Guest guest
I have read many things about protein intake. I have been a vegetarian for 14+ years, but now have gone to the Natural Hygeine way of eating and am giving up all dairy (except for butter for now). I have recently read that the body can produce the protein it needs from vegetables--is this true? Also since I'm not eating carbs and proteins at the same meal, and I eat only fruit before noon, I find some days I don't even get nuts in my diet. I have read that because beans are both protein and carbs, that it may be best to eat these without eating a lot of other carbs at the same meal. On one occasion I had beans and rice for a meal but chose not to eat anything else. Looking back, I realize that maybe it would have been better to eat a salad with this meal. I am working on finding more books regarding natural hygeine, but can't read them all at once, so I'm reading as I'm doing this. I would appreciate any guidance anyone can give me since I do want to be sure to get enough protein, but I also want to follow the food combining principles of the Natural Hygeine way of eating. I'm making sure also that I don't eat at least 3 hours after a previous meal. I have also found that I am eating a lot less. Today ended up being an all fruit day. Can one do this often or is this best only to do occasionally. By the way, I don't have to worry about keeping weight on--I'm hoping to lose about 30 pounds but am doing this more for health and don't mind losing it more slowly. I just know from past experience, I was able to really lose the extra weight this way. Of course, I was about 24 years younger then. I hope as many people who on this list that are vegans or follow the Natural Hygeine way of food combining chime in and give me your opinions. Thank you in advance.
