Guest guest
<<<<I've been a vegetarian for over 23 years, but have just recently given up milk and eggs.>>>> I've been at it for 20 years and slowly started eliminating down to " raw " foods. I would like to ask if there are any other members who practice the Natural Hygiene way of eating. I am not sure if most members here eat only raw foods or only a certain percentage.>>>>> Natural Hygiene seems the best way for me and staying all raw feels the most sensible. <<<<I eat only raw fruit at least until noon and then I have a large salad for lunch, maybe some steamed veggies, and dinner has been steamed veggies, large salad, baked potatoe or rice, etc.>>>>> That's pretty much how I eat, only I'm trying to eliminate all cooked foods. I am not mixing carbs with proteins. I am also eating raw nuts. I don't drink with meals, etc. Me too! <<<<<I am also working at getting to bed earlier, but tonight,I got carried away doing searches on Natural Hygiene on the internet and then started looking for a (and found you).>>>> This is my biggest challenge. I always intend to get to bed earlier but somehow get side tracked. I know how important rest is and aiming at getting more is my goal. <<<<I just finished day 5 and feel pretty good and am gung ho. I have been making eating modifications for the past 23 years a little at a time. I feel ready to take this on.>>>> It is definitely a process. Reading good books and getting support from groups like this helps to keep us focused. <<<<I have been reading Fit For Life and Fit For Life II, I'm going to read Fitonics next, but not so sure about it because when I glanced in the book, I noticed that they talk about eating fruit along with vegetables and oatmeal. Do any of you do this?>>>> Fit For Life was the very book that got me started. Since then I have read wonderful encouraging ones. I try to stay away from all grains as they are very mucus forming and not ideal for us. <<<<Funny how this has progressed. I haven't had chocolate in over 13 years, caffiene in over 7 years or sodas. My main drink is purified water and some fresh juice. I have a Vita-Mix, so even when I make juice, I still get the fiber.>>>>> I also drink just distilled water and use my Vita-Mix just about every day. <<<<People have always thought my eating eccentric. Back in the 70s, I was considered a health nut. Does it sound like this is the group for me?????>>>> I am the only one in my family and among my friends that eat this way. They think i'm an " odd ball " , but the benefits far outwiegh their opinions. <<<<As Jimmy Buffet says in one of his songs, " I'm growing older, but not up. " Which leads me to say that I am 51 and living in South Florida.>>>> I'm about 15 years your senior and I can tell you I'm a lot more active than friends and family my age. <<<<Sorry for the long, rambling intro.>>>>> Nice meeting you Viveca! You rang a bell with me in many aspects of your journey. Best Wishes, Vegigran
