Guest guest
Hello, All. My name is Rose, I live in rural upstate New York with husband, Fred, and our 4 cats. We eat and grow organically. I am in the process of establishing a cutflower and vegetable farm on our 70-acre farm. Currently, I am vegan and Fred's vegetarian. But I'm feeling more and more of a " calling " toward raw food. I had a salad the other day and it just brought it home. I felt so good, so clear, clean, lighter, more energized. I just need to know how to start. QUESTIONS: 1. Good website for raw/live food? 2. Is there a difference betweet raw and live food? 3. How does one begin? 4. How do I achieve a balance in the diet? Thanks, Rose

Guest guest
Doug, I agree on all points made. David Wolfe is the right starting point though in his Sun Food Success Diet, I would tend to skip the first 158 pages. That is unless you are interested in his poetry etc. Then of course comes Frederic Patenaude's Raw Secrets. Keep up the fast. Sounds you are doing well and the benefits should start streaming in. So you already have started. " Sunfood Diet Success System " by David Wolf, is, in my opinion the best book for someone starting out on raw. If I may quote him again; " The most important decision you will make in your life, is what you put in your mouth at your next meal. " As for web sites, click on our Links, on the left side of your screen. " Is there a difference between raw and live food? " There can be a lot of things have been heated during processing and are dead foods, but they can still call them raw because they are not boiled (watch out). Stone crushed extra virgin olive oil is not raw, even though most people (even in health food stores) believe it is. Cooked and dead oils cause age spots that we can see on our skin, but also appear on our organs including our brains. I avoid all processed oils. There is no such thing as raw honey for the same reason. Even if you did find a bee hive to rob its not good for you, and has the same effect on your body as sugar. For something sweet try to find Stevia plants, read my message #1171 on Stevia. You can also buy stevia powder in health food stores use sparingly its 40 times sweeter than sugar. Don't worry about balance in your diet. You could live a healthy life eating nothing but grass, cows do it. Cooked food is an addiction, so be prepared for false cravings (Jonesing). Try to balance, approximately by weight, green leafy vegetables, fruits, and raw fats (avocadoes) to stave of these cravings. After you have been raw for awhile start thinking about fasting. This can break the addiction. Peter, and all; I'm in my 4th day of a water fast and doing well. I had my last meal on Thursday afternoon. I am going back to work tomorrow and will see how my energy levels are. If I need to I will just switch to a juice fast. I haven't been hungry at all. I guess I'm pretty determined Doug. rawfood , " Rose and Fred Lieberman " <pyrite@c...> wrote: > Hello, All. My name is Rose, I live in rural upstate New York with husband, Fred, and our 4 cats.
