Good website for raw/live food? Hardly anyone knows about my website (rawfoodwiki.org), but I think it's pretty good! One good thing about it is that _YOU_ (yes all of you) can actually add to the website. Add your own recipes. Add your own stories, etc. (I do request that people not delete anything.) Check out rawfoodwiki.org. Most of you have probably never heard of a " wiki " before, but basically it's a collaborative website with a speedy search engine. So if you add recipes, for instance, you'll be able to search by ingredient. It might take a few minutes to get the hang of adding content, so I offer a " sandbox " where you can just play/practice. http://www.rawfoodwiki.org/index.php/SandBox It's a risk to share a website like this (one that anyone can edit) but I expect good things from this community! I've only had a few early adopters... So far I've been the main person adding content to the site. I've got links to photographs, recipes, facilities organic information, even chemical structure software. Fairly eclectic bunch of topics, all of which can be found at http://www.rawfoodwiki.org/index.php/Encyclopedia > 2. Is there a difference betweet raw and live food? > 3. How does one begin? Some good books offer a good start. I invite people to add links to this page: http://www.rawfoodwiki.org/index.php/Books > 4. How do I achieve a balance in the diet? I think one (quirky, but useful) way is to think in colors. Name the colors in the rainbow, add a few more, and then determine if you've eaten food of those colors over the past few days. -- Marjorie Roswell 3443 Guilford Terrace Baltimore, MD 21218 mroswell 410-467-3727 Newest Site: rawfoodwiki.org
Guest guest
Hi Rose; David Wolf said; " The healing starts with the first bite of raw food " . So you already have started. " Sunfood Diet Success System " by David Wolf, is, in my opinion the best book for someone starting out on raw. If I may quote him again; " The most important decision you will make in your life, is what you put in your mouth at your next meal. " As for web sites, click on our Links, on the left side of your screen. " Is there a difference between raw and live food? " There can be a lot of things have been heated during processing and are dead foods, but they can still call them raw because they are not boiled (watch out). Stone crushed extra virgin olive oil is not raw, even though most people (even in health food stores) believe it is. Cooked and dead oils cause age spots that we can see on our skin, but also appear on our organs including our brains. I avoid all processed oils. There is no such thing as raw honey for the same reason. Even if you did find a bee hive to rob its not good for you, and has the same effect on your body as sugar. For something sweet try to find Stevia plants, read my message #1171 on Stevia. You can also buy stevia powder in health food stores use sparingly its 40 times sweeter than sugar. Don't worry about balance in your diet. You could live a healthy life eating nothing but grass, cows do it. Cooked food is an addiction, so be prepared for false cravings (Jonesing). Try to balance, approximately by weight, green leafy vegetables, fruits, and raw fats (avocadoes) to stave of these cravings. After you have been raw for awhile start thinking about fasting. This can break the addiction. Peter, and all; I'm in my 4th day of a water fast and doing well. I had my last meal on Thursday afternoon. I am going back to work tomorrow and will see how my energy levels are. If I need to I will just switch to a juice fast. I haven't been hungry at all. I guess I'm pretty determined Doug. rawfood , " Rose and Fred Lieberman " <pyrite@c...> wrote: > Hello, All. My name is Rose, I live in rural upstate New York with husband, Fred, and our 4 cats.
