Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I have written in here before a few times. I am still fairly new to raw foodism. But this month I decided to go 100% raw which I have been doing. Only thing is that my breath has started to smell, my sinuses are a little tender and I feel like I have eatten sulfur. Not any pain but a really bitter taste in my mouth. I had my teeth checked not that long ago and they were fine, I don't have any flu symptooms and my tongue is clean and pink. I am feeling good although I am getting a bit of acid reflux. Is this a detox symptom? Any suggestions on how to get rid of the taste? I am brushing and using salted water and it only lasts a very short time (until I eat next). I am wondering if I should do a water fast? Thanks Wendy
Guest guest
Hi Wendy: This is definitely a detoxing symptom. It is called ketosis. The skin is the largest eliminative organ in the body so there will be minor eruptions also. The salty or bitter taste is usually the detoxification symptoms of releasing old prescription medication. The acid/alkaline balance is also going to be affected so there will be the release of acidity, gas etc. A water fast of a few days is always a good way to start things. Just be very careful of breaking a fast, very gently. With juices or very, very light salad. Good luck, the results are amazing to behold.
