Guest guest
Hey Everyone - My name is Chantal - I'm a recent raw foodie convert from Toronto, and I've just started my second week of detox (I'm following Dr. Young's pH Miracle program). I understand that as part of the cleansing process, I may actually feel worse than I did before, but I feel absolutely miserable. Yesterday I developed a horrible sore throat and now I've got major sinus congestion to go along with it. Can anyone provide an idea as to how long this may last? I freelance doing voice over work for commercials outside of my 9-5 job and I have had to cancel two auditions already. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally committed to this change of lifestyle - in fact I really enjoy it - but I am so incredibly worn out and if anyone could shed some light on this it would be very, very much appreciated. Also, I'm about 20 pounds over my ideal weight - and I've read many of the posts here where other raw foodies have mentioned rapid weight loss. Again, I'm in no rush here and I'm happy to have finally found what I believe will be the best health decision of my life, but is the rapid weight loss really the case for everyone? So far I haven't shed an inch (I'm not bothering with the scale - it's just based upon the way my clothes feel). Typically, I exercise 3-4x/wk but considering how I feel right now I've decided to put that on hold for the time being. I've posted my diet below so any advice/input would be fantastic. Here's a typical day on detox: 6:30am: 1 litre/quart of juiced greens - takes me about 45 minutes to drink it - along with my daily supplements 8:00am: 1 litre/quart of water (reverse-osmosis) 10:00am: 1 litre/quart of water mixed with 1 scoop of Greens+. Sipped for about an hour 11:00am: 1 litre/quart of water Midday: 1 litre/quart of water mixed with 1 scoop of Greens+. Sipped for about an hour. Then it's water throughout the rest of the afternoon and another litre of juiced greens at dinner. Thanks everyone - cheers! Chantal
