I just started the Power of 10 program by Adam Zickerman. See www.power-of-10.com for more info. I highly recommend the book. Yeah, of course he advocates eating meat, etc, but I ignore that part. Also, Steve Arlin wrote a book called " Raw Power " that is specifically about building raw muscles. Good book, make sure you get the expanded third edition. I have the first edition, it's still pretty good. It's funny, Zickerman wants you to eat 6x per day, Arlin says the best way to bulk up is to eat once or twice per day. I figure I'll find out by trial and error what works best for me. I figure the important part is doing the exercises.. the rest will follow. There is one other book, you can get it on www.rawfood.com, but I haven't checked it out yet. The title is ''Confessions of a Body Builder: Rejuvenating the Body with Spirulina, Chlorella, Raw Foods, & Ionized Water'' by Bob McCauley. You can also get the other book from there as well. If you like Power of 10, there's also another book called " Slow Burn Fitness Revolution " that is on the same concept.. but I find that I like Power of 10 a LOT more, and that's what I'm basing my workouts on. Had my first one yesterday, and I can really feel it today, and I can't wait til Wednesday to have my next one! (Yes, you work out only twice per week, cardio is optional but I'm going to use my rebounder). The other thing I was thinking of doing was a raw version of Body for Life.. but I really don't want to go to the gym 6 days a week. Hope this helps! --Art, in Boston
Guest guest
Woof, Woof, It is a good idea to do some kind of weight training on a raw food diet. Somehow the whole physiology of the body changes with the raw food diet. I suspect most long term raw foodists do something to build muscle and keep weight up. I certainly do - it makes me feel so much better. Right food without exercise is only half the transformation.
