I'm new to becoming a raw foodist, too. I'm having a really hard

time with cravings. And it's not just cooked food, but the worst

kind of junked up cooked food. What I used to consider my 'comfort

foods'. that have now caused me to have a disease that is

potentially life threatening. Oh yeah, and I've got strong cravings

for spicy Indian cuisine, which isn't as bad as junk food, but still

very cooked and therefore DEAD. I've read 2 of the Boutenek's

(misspelled?) books, Primal Mothering - Hygeia Halfmoon and now

reading Nature's First Law - Arlin, Dini & Wolfe. I understand and

believe that I need to do this, not only for myself, but also for my

hubbie and children. I have PCOS-Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome and I

am IR-Insulin Resistant. I'm on meds for this and want to get off!

 

I don't know if this is the message board I'm really looking for. I

need support for getting through this cooked food addiction and don't

have the money or insurance to pay for any tpye of therapy. I'd

really like for my family to do this with me, but I don't believe in

forcing, or even coercing children, so I also need support for that.

Hubbie says he's all for it, but then he brings home cooked food to

share. Deep down I don't think he believes I can stick to it.

Would someone please let me know if this board is for discussing

these types of things?
