Guest guest
Dear Peter, That's good news: I have gone into ketosis. And you are right my senses are sharpened. My eyesight has become clearer and more acute. And yes I can smell food at 50 yards. I am becoming the lean and hungry hunter. Also today I have become slower. It's like I am more in touch with myself. I am a bit more sweaty than usual. I am drinking a lot of water. I am still sleeping nine hours but last night I woke up at 3am for an hour then went back to sleep. However I am losing weight appreciably. I am more tolerant of other people. Everyday I am going for slow walks. I think, I hope, my heart is slowing down. I have five more days to go then three days on vegetable juice, two days on vegetable and fruit juice then lots of raw fruit and vegetables and sprouts and a little nuts, seeds, olive oil and fish. It's very nice to have you along for the ride and I appeciate your knowledge. With Thanks, Victor.
Guest guest
Keep going Victor, I am neither a quack nor a qualified practitioner of medicine so take what I say as just the result of experience in good faith. Moderate exercise appeared in several passages I read on fasting. It makes sense - sugar is down, fat has to be cashed in. When so much is going on in the body, it is no time to be thrashing yourself. Rather the reverse of taking care of yourself whilst the repair job is in hand. Meanwhile more rubbish will slowly tip into the latter end of the digestive tract. At the same time the blood is in scavenge mode and it will draw on fat and that residue and recycle it a bit. This might result in many of the so-called side effects of fasting; fatigue, headaches and a whole lot of other things which never bothered me. After a week, I took the gut wash and it gave a huge lift and feeling of well being. Of course if you do that more than a time or two you risk cleaning our all the good and bad bacteria that is said to reside in us. The remedy is to ask the hydra-therapist to supply a potion or take medical opinion. On the other hand you might go the whole distance without bothering. I did a two week fast without bothering but for a longer fast I have taken the weekly clear out. Some say every five days is better. Generally Americans are hot on " colonics " although I have read that Dr. Graham warns of " serious " pitfalls and posits the notion that a raw diet is enough without the cinema of fasting and washing the colon. If you start to feel badly rough, just take some watered juice - in 20 minutes you will feel a different person. Meanwhile enjoy the ride.
