Guest guest
Hi all I'm reposting Roger's helpful reply to my offlist query re: eating fruit if one may have hypoglycemia, as I thought it might be of benefit to others. My apologies if this has been discussed before. BTW, only my second day into the program and my system already seems to have started " de-crudding " itself! That feels great and I do feel a little more energetic than before. Best wishes Manoj *********************************** Hi Manoj, Hypoglycemia means- abnormal decrease of sugar in the blood. Eating fruit would increase the sugar in the blood and help hypoglycemia. I used to have hypoglycemia. But once I went 100% raw and ate plenty of fruit it went away. If you used to eat about 750 calories of cooked food before lunch then you should get the same amount in raw. So you need to know the caloric values of food. You'll see that you have to probably double the amount of fruit you are currently eating to get enough calories. You'll have to play around with this until you feel right. Don't drink fruit juices. Best to eat whole fruit. You can blend whole fruit with water if you want, but eat the whole fruit. The fiber in the fruit slows down the rate of absorption of the blood sugar. Your body will need some time to adjust to using fruit as a fuel, but it will adjust. Heck this is what we are supposed to be eating so it will be easy for your body. Headaches are a sure sign of detoxification. Headaches are good and you should never take pain killers or aspirin. Take care, Roger Have you tried the Raw Diet many times but failed to stick with it? I've had a slight headache from the morning which I assume is to be expected. Just want to ask you--I have a feeling I may be hypoglycemic (got a lot of the symptoms), if so, is it still ok to eat just fruit in the mornings? What about fruit juices, should I be careful about that? Thanks, Manoj
