Guest guest
Has anyone here had any mercury fillings removed and if so, how has this affected your health? I broke a tooth this week, one that has a large mercury filling. I have had massive headaches ever since. I am coming to the conclusion that this is the result of the mercury exposure from the tooth breakage. I am also having many more problems with my sinuses this week. I am so stuffy right now and haven't changed my way of eating which is about 70-80% raw with no dairy. Do you think that the mercury is my problem? Any advice on this matter is appreciated. I have made an appt. with a holistic dentist for Fri. morning. Thanks a bunch, Valerie > > carlo7 <carlo7 > 2003/01/12 Sun PM 12:20:56 EST > rawfood > [Raw Food] Immunity - Herbert M Shelton > >
Guest guest
Hi Valerie, I'm afraid this makes rather scary reading but I thought you might want to know. The technical references are to radionic-type energy testing devices. It's from http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0722538235/qid=1042746505/sr=1-1/re f=sr_1_0_1/026-7334614-0578037 This doesn't necessarily mean that the problem is your fillings but it's pretty telling I would say. Good luck, Manoj PS if you would describe the holistic dentist's intervention I would appreciate it. .... " Then there is the mercury story. Just over a decade ago, most of us were still to be convinced of the problem of biological intoxication with mercury. Official bodies such as the British and American Dental Associations deny it still. As I said in my last book, gram for gram, mercury is one of the most toxic substances known to humanity, and it is arguably the most serious environmental pollutant we are creating for ourselves. Unfortunately mercury, especially in the methyl or chloride forms which have great biological penetration, has a special affinity for brain tissue. Most people know that the expression 'mad as a hatter' comes from the fact that twitching and dementia were once common among hat manufacturers and were due to poisoning with the mercuric nitrate used for curing felt hat bands. The first health scare of modem times was the discovery that in the 1950s children who were dying of pink disease were being poisoned by mercury in 'teething powders'. Then, in 1953, the inhabitants of the Japanese fishing port of Minamata began to fall ill with a mysterious illness which caused twitching, mental confusion, difficulty in speaking and eventually paralysis. Autopsy showed considerable brain damage and the agent was discovered to be mercury. A nearby factory was dumping mercuric waste into the bay, which contaminated the fish stocks. It was concentrated in the food chain and reached deadly levels before being eaten by humans. Despite all this, the dental profession continues to insist mercury is somehow non-toxic when you put it in your mouth! There is considerable hypocrisy about this, however; the instructions to dentists for handling mercury leave no doubt that it is harmful to dentists -even though it is supposed to be safe for patients. Advice to the profession includes storing it under water, not touching it by hand, providing adequate air extraction to eliminate the toxic vapour, and so on. Generally it is illegal for dentists to allow fluids contaminated by mercury to be sent into the sewage system. Filters or extractors are required. The official argument was once that mercury remains firmly in the teeth and cannot spread to other tissues. Then in 1989 a team of doctors in Calgary, Canada, under Drs Hahn and Vimy, proved that the truth was very different. Using radioactive mercury and placing fillings in the teeth of sheep, they were able to show that mercury from fillings spreads allover a mammalian body within hours. The official line then switched to saying that there was no proven connection between mercury poisoning from amalgams and any known disease. This is specious and dishonest. It is not the public's job to prove there is a danger from mercury; it is the manufacturer's responsibility to show that it is safe. There is no prospect of this being possible. The reason that the precipitating role of amalgams in disease processes is being missed is that doctors do not ask the right question: have you ever visited your primary care physician with a complaint and been asked 'Have you recently had any dental treatment?' Naturally, not. If doctors did check this important point they would be shocked at how often the answer would be yes. What EAV doctors have been finding for years is that heavy metal overloads are a common cause of pathology and, not surprisingly, mercury is the godfather of all. Time and again mercury fillings are at the head of what I described in Chapter 8 as Causal Chains. However, this is not confined to mercury. Poisoning from other metals can occur. Sometimes the question is one of sensitivity, rather than poisoning. We must accept what Nature tells us, and on testing a male patient with the Acupro I found that the biggest Indicator Drop pointed to danger from a gold-filled tooth and not the more obvious opposing amalgam. Scanning the dental nosode list showed that this patient was unusual in reacting to gold. I prescribed a homeopathic detoxification treatment and, next day, the gold filling fell out. Clearly it was rejected by the body, once given a little energetic help. The bemused patient preferred to believe it was 'just a coincidence', even though the tooth had remained in place for almost 20 years.
