Guest guest
Hi kim or anyone with rashes, I was wondering if you had eczema or psoriasis, because I have psoriasis and I know that it is a food allergy. It would be impossible to know what causes it, unless you get an allergy test done by an allergist/immunologist. Food allergy testing is an awesome thing to know about yourself, because food allergies cause a bunch of different symptoms you would never relate to allergies, like abdominal pain, diarrhea, and headaches. We crave food sometimes that we are allergic to. I've read dermatology abstracts that claim that 90% of eczema or psoriasis is caused by food allergy. Anyway, I drink Coke which has corn syrup in it. I am allergic to corn. If I abstain from Coke for three weeks, my rashes clear up. Otherwise, they are there for years. You can be allergic to something like fish or corn and have a reaction to coffee because of the materials in the filter, believe it or not. Coffee also has mold in it. Also, the creamers have corn usually. If anyone is allergic to corn specifically, I am an expert on it, please use me. Guest guest
Holly, my skin condition is not common. No, it's not eczema or psoriasis. I'd give the name, but it's merely a very long term (four words) that only describes it in fancy medical terminology, and no one I know (incl. most docs) has ever heard of it. I've had this for 20 years, so I have certainly considered food allergies as well as lymphatic, liver or blood issues (which others have mentioned). I actually have never gotten the allergy testing done (although I did go a naturopathic doctor once who worked underneath an MD allergy specialist. I just didn't think highly of the tests because my mom had it done years ago. She cut out strawberries and newspaper from her life after the tests showed sensitivity to those two things, but it did nothing for her. Since it was some years ago, and my income is better these days, I am considering having it done. I just need to hear from enough people with skin problems(you're one) that the tests were a success for them. I belonged to the St.Johns eczema list for about a year (even though I dont have that)and found that many of those people did not achieve success after testing. Admittedly, though, it wasn't clear to me if that's because they didn't completely give up a particular food product. Like you said, it may have been in something they weren't aware contained it. Any suggestions on any test that's better than others? I have also tried supplement combinations designed to detox the liver or cleanse the blood. The problem is that if I don't see results after two to three months, I usually give up on a remedy because they're all fairly expensive and I don't feel I should have to try something for a year to find out if it's going to do anything. kim --- Holly Branch <hollymbk wrote: > > Hi kim or anyone with rashes, > I was wondering if you had eczema or psoriasis, because I have > psoriasis and I know that it is a food allergy.
